Very traditional Japanese room with amazing bathtub. The tatami was extremely comfortable. The dinner and breakfast are amazing!

No onsen available and you can’t have dinner in your room

The tranquil setting, the staff, the sleeping arrangements, the views, the bath, everything! Do yourself a favour and book the kaiseki breakfast and dinner, it was an experience we will remember for forever. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Nothing to dislike

One of the finest ryokans in Japan. The property is beautiful, very well cared for, and the location is perfect, right by Higashi Chaya district. The food is amazing, very delicate and creative.

Location was peaceful. Breakfast was a little to traditional for my liking.

It was a very unusual stay in a good way and had the feel of what I imagined a Japanese ryokan experience would be. The rooms were beautiful and elegant. I felt very pampered. The food was amazing and so well presented. The location is right by the old Higashi Chaya geisha district.

I wish I could have stayed longer. Yamanoo was perfect and relaxing. The food was delicious. The service exceptional.
