"Asahikawa City Hotel"

Location, it is right in the centre of the city, only 10 to 15 min walk from the railway and bus stations.. The staff were helpful. They were trying to do their best. Hotel has the old time charm.

Perhaps the stairs were a bit steep.

Going into this, I was not expecting much from the place. Especially since we were looking to stay for 1 night before we head off to Asahidake. I wish and I really wish I stayed at this place instead and have Asahidake as a day trip. The place is phenomenal beyond what I imagined. The owners who were a small family were the greatest hosts I have had. They felt like they were a host family and we were their children staying there as if we were part of the family. I wished I could have booked more days to stay at this place because this ryokan has its own charms comparing to other places I stayed but the family there who was working made the stay so well worth it!
