Hearthstone Inn

Sam (owner) was very helpful and accommodating. The motel is centrally located , room is clean and comfortable. The motel is located next to winding stairs, a beautiful area to walk/ hike. This area has a great hiking trail with a water fall. You can also have a picnic here.

The motel is in desperate need of general maintenance work. I was there for 9 days and my sheets were not changed , nor was there a offer to change them. The outside sitting area would be very cute , if it was attended to.

Peaceful, perfect location.

It was in the town of Lafayette where we were visiting a friend.

Thew room was dirty and out dated. Had to leave my shoes on because my white socks were so dirty after walking across the room once. The toilet was not properly bolted down to the floor, it rocked and the bathroom had a sewer odor in it. The bathtub did not properly drain. There were no instructions in the room on how to use the shower, had to wait until after 9am to go to the front office to ask, The TV did not work, just static. The beds were old and very uncomfortable, and there was no blankets on the beds, just as sheet and dirty comforter. The office chair at the desk was broken, wheels did not move properly and the back of the chair would go back when sitting in it. The staff would go in the room to leave clean towels only, they did not empty the trash cans the 3 days we were there and did not make the beds daily.

The advert should not have said "continental breakfast included". A granola bar and coffee is not a continental breakfast. How about a piece of fruit, orange juice, a danish/donut, coffee, and toast. Maybe some cheese. We had to stop elsewhere for a breakfast.

There is no breakfast. All it is is a granola bar and coffee. The coffee bar only had powder creamer and one choice of sweetener. Disappointing. What did I like? The staff was friendly and the room was clean except for the floor that never seemed to be mopped. The water pressure was excellent.

They were renting rooms out to people that were there for work with work trucks such as loud diesel trucks that would back into parking spaces, mind you this is a motel, not a hotel. They would start up the trucks early in the morning and would wake you up not to mention you would smell the exhaust from the trucks because the people were not courteous enough to pull into the space where the exhaust was not right at the doors. Also the staff did not care when I told them people were smoking in the rooms because I would smell it coming through the outlets and exhaust fan in the bathroom. The staff only seems to care about making money. Some of the towels were like paper thin and the first day they never even came into the room to service it.

Overall it was clean except in the bathroom where part of the tile was broke. That area needed cleaned. I liked the fridge was really cold and it is in a great location. The bed was really comfy. I also liked you could back your car right in front of the door so its very close to load and unload car.

Bathroom was super small and when you sat on the toilet the seat slid around. Im assuming either the fasteners needed tightened or it was broke.

The facilities need updated and needs cleaned up trash laying around and cigarettes butts laying around breakfast area was messy outlet in bathroom didn't work tv didn't work but after a couple visits he fixed it.

The room was clean and towels well stocked. The owners were exceptionally nice.
