Riad Dalla Santa

De riad is gelegen midden in de oude stad. Als je deur uit stapt loop je de de mooie oude straten in. Vlak bij de souks en het plein. In de riad is het heerlijk rustig. Zowel overdag als snachts was het heel stil. De kamers en de hele riad zijn heel mooi en sfeervol ingericht. Ontbijt was lekker.

Onze 4-persoonskamer had geen raam. Snachts hebben we daarom de deur opengelaten op een kier. Dat ging prima. Het bed was aan de harde kant voor mij, maar evengoed heb ik goed geslapen. Boven op het dakterras is een zwembadje, jammer genoeg zijn er maar 3 ligbedden die direct naast het zwembad staan. Als die (deels) bezet zijn dan kun kun je verder op het dakterras niet echt lekker relaxen. En is er ook een beetje een drempel om het zwembadje in te gaan. Er staan wel tafeltjes met stoelen, maar dat zit niet lekker in je zwemkleren. Na 10 uur savonds wordt het in de oude stad wat stiller, alle kraampjes zijn dan dicht. Het laatste stukje naar de riad zou ik zeker niet alleen willen lopen. Met mijn 2 volwassen zonen was dat wel te doen.

Aesthetically, Riad looks lovely and the location is very convenient. That’s honestly the main highlight of the stay.

People who have rated this riad highly, I can only assume it didn’t match our experience compared to other riads we’ve stayed in. We’ve been to Marrakech three times and always choose to stay in a riad in the Medina because we love the service and authenticity. Unfortunately, we didn’t find that here at all. When we arrived, the room we were given was not what was promised (a rooftop pool and private patio), and we didn’t receive that. The room also had no windows, which made it feel very dark and uncomfortable. I understand many riads are traditionally shaded, but the lack of natural light was difficult. Breakfast was very basic — just omelettes and pancakes. In comparison to other riads we’ve stayed in, which offered pastries, fruit, bread, cakes, and more, this felt quite limited. The pool area was also unsafe. My daughter ended up needing medical attention after cutting her feet on the upstairs pool surface. There were only three sun loungers, and if they were taken, there was nowhere else comfortable to sit. There is also very little seating around the lower pool area, which is unusual compared to other riads we’ve stayed in. Service was the main issue for us. We were repeatedly chased for city tax payment during our stay, which felt unnecessary while we were still settling in. There was also no first aid kit available, which was concerning. One member of staff came across as quite dismissive when my son was unwell, which we found upsetting. Overall, for the price we paid, it did not feel worth it, and the description of the room did not match reality. We wouldn’t return.

Riad molto bello e pulito. Una menzione speciale ad Aziz che ci ha accolto con molta gentilezza e professionalità spiegandoci anche tutte le migliori attrazioni di Marrakesh e dandoci nomi di ristoranti, peraltro molto buoni.

La camera assegnataci era confinante con la sala colazioni e quindi non abbiamo avuto molta privacy.

Pulizia, posizione e disponibilità dello staff

L'unica pecca è la vicinanza ad una moschea quindi alle 6 di mattina c'è il muezzin che fabil richiamo alla preghiera che può essere fastidioso .
