The hot baths in the rooms with a sea view were fantastic.

Great spot along the coast. By private bath tub in the description, definitely means the hot tubs you see in pictures

Private and public onsen

Staff was not willing to help with the language barrier and the welcome experience was poor

Each room had its own private onsen (hot tub).

The rooms were a bit dated and the toilet room was on the opposite side of the tatami room from the sink.

Authentic Japanese onsen hotel by the sea. We appreciated both our private bath and large public bath with several pools indoors and outdoors. Location is further away from busy Matsuyama city and we enjoyed the tranquil atmosphere of Hojo area.

This is a place with a lovely sea view, a balcony for air-drying clothes, a generous shower area and a very large private bath. As it's a bathhouse, there is an even larger open-air public bath, with a cafeteria and store selling local vegetables and fruit.

I was a little surprised that the hotel doesn't have a direct connection to the beach, which is literally on its doorstep.
