Bathroom was stale smelling. It seems like there are renovations planned, so pool was closed.

The motel is well located on the main drag in New Minas within walking distance of various take-outs and restaurants. At check in we were upgraded for no additional cost to a larger family room. The room was clean and the bathroom equipped with three sets of towels (often we had to ask for an additional towel set for our three-person group). The non-smoking room smelled fresh and it was fairly quiet (set back far enough from the road to avoid traffic noise with enough wall insulation to prevent hear the guest in the next room). The thermostat adjusted heating and cooling effectively, heavy curtains provide for a good sleep, and a coffee maker was provided.

There was just a sheet and thin coverlet on the beds, we would have liked a duvet and some extra blankets. Would be nice to have a little fridge (with real creamers), microwave and hair dryer in the room. The clock radio/alarm had to be unplugged to plug my charger in and I couldn't understand how to reset it. Would be better to provide more outlets for charging or usb plug ins in the lamps. It was raining during our stay and the gutter over the doors needs fixing as there was quite a cascade of water coming from the roof we had to pass through. Although the room was also nicer, its pricing at $188 was expensive compared to other motel stays (eg. Truro $100, Pictou $122).

Loved the bathroom. It was updated and comfortable to use. Although the room was small it was reasonably comfortable.

The fact that a building was being erected just outside our door was a bit disconcerting and intrusive into some afternoon quiet. Once the building goes up I am sure it will be fine. We stayed away rather than took the time to relax.

Location

Charged for a bloody pillow which I have no recollection of. First of all I would have reported it before leaving. My assumption is the housekeeper reported the wrong room. This is something I would have noticed when doing my “last look” around. Other than that it was a great stay with a great location.
