The family welcomed us with open arms. They provided us with everything we needed starting from transportation to the camp through dinner and amazing music performance near fire pit. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing. We went stargazing in the middle of the dessert and they were very helpful. We felt very safe and like home.

"Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful"

10.0

Incredible host, incredible location (compared to other desert camps that were all very close to each other), fun night time fire, good food, wonderful excursion options.

It was cold at night time but we expected this and good blankets were supplied.

"Fantastic value for money, simple authentic experience"

9.0

We did a lot of research before choosing this camp, and we’re glad we did. It’s much further out than a lot of the others, brilliant facilities, (the tent is beautiful) and overall great value for money. Dinner was lovely, and breakfast was very simple but sufficient. Overall if you don’t go with crazy expectations, you’ll love it. We didn’t do any extra activities like camel riding or 4x4, but the staff did take us to try sandboarding and watch the sunset from the dunes.

We thought the camp was going to be slightly more ‘in the middle’ of the dunes than it actually was and completely isolated. It’s actually further out on the edge and you can see two other camps. But the view is still great, and it’s more remote than others we saw. Also communication could be a bit better. Sometimes it was unclear what was happening when so you have to ask a lot. And at times we struggled to communicate with one of the staff which was a shame (we speak multiple languages).

"A true gem in the desert"

10.0

This is the camp to choose for a great desert experience. We picked it over the dozens available because it is smaller than the others and located in the middle of the sand dunes, in a more secluded area, which immediately gives a sense of intimacy. Also, transfer to/from the camp and dinner are included (as opposed to many other camps) Moustapha and the rest of the staff were extremely welcoming, and we felt their desire to explain their culture to us. We recommend doing the camel tour at sunset (20€ per person) and the 4x4 tour in the morning (we paid 95€ for 3 people, it lasted about 4 hours) with lots of practical info on the desert life, plants animals and people; we visited a nomad family, some mines, khamlia village (where they play gnawa music), the oasis of merzouga and a lake.

We loved everything :)

"Perfect Sahara experience!"

10.0

Do not search for another camp. This is the perfect one! The staff is very nice and we had a great and funny time with them after dinner. The camp is located in the middle of the desert far from other camps. The tent is comfortable and very clean. The dinner and breakfast were very tasty. We will definetely be back for a longer stay :)

"Beautiful, amazing experience."

10.0

This place is amazing. It is further away from the town than lots of the other camps so it feels like you are properly in the desert. It’s also much smaller with only 6 tents which is a positive . The staff are all brilliant. They pick you up in a 4x4 from a hotel and drive you 20 minutes into the desert (free). The food is lovely and well prepared. They organised a camel ride (20euro each) and a 4x4 trip for about 4 hours which was definitely worth doing (100 euros for 3 of us). We stayed two nights which I would highly recommend (more nights if you can). If you can’t guess we all loved it.

It was perfect. Just take a big coat and jumper as it it gets cold in the evening whilst star gazing.

"Ideal camp"

10.0

The camp was amazing. It was far away from the big cluster of other camps, so you have your own private section of the desert. The hosts were also fantastic. They were very friendly and put on a great dinner and show by the fire. The facilities are also far beyond what we expected for being in the desert. I highly recommend this camp.

"A truely authentic experience with hints of luxury"

9.0

This is run and owned by a small dedicated team of locals who are extremely accommodating. Our arrival time unexpectedly got pushed back by 4hrs, but this was no issue for them and they still met us at the meeting point (Cafe du Sud) and quickly took us by 4x4 to the camp where they had tea waiting for us. It turns out we were the only ones in the camp that night, but they still pulled out all the stops and gave us a 3 course meal (possibly one of the best tagine of our whole trip) with a nice bottle of wine, followed by some music around the fire. We were then left to take in the incredible night sky and take advantage of the secluded location. - unlike other camps, this one doesn't have another camp just over the next dune (although you can see a couple in the distance if you stand on top of the dunes) which means once the music has stopped your in total silence. The next day, they offered a cammel ride and a few other optional activities for a small extra fee. But at no point did we feel pressured into paying extra for anything (they even let us handel a bird of pray and took us on a 4x4 tour of the dunes and lent us traditional clothes for no extra cost!). We took part in a cammel ride which was a bit shorter than expected, but gave us the experience, photos and as it was getting hot, it turned out to be as long as I could handle! (So perfectly timed). The accommodation I would class as rustic luxuary. It's maybe not the most modern or high-end camps, but it feels like you get a truely authentic, secluded experience, which I don't think you would get in other camps (especially as some are actually next to hotels!). Overall I would come again and recommend it to friends.

The shower water smelled a bit strange at the start, so I didn't take a shower. Maybe I should have just run it a little bit - it is the desert, after all!
