Hill Side Kings Villa (Colonial Bungalow)

Amazing stay! The hosts are kind, friendly and genuine people who work so hard to ensure the quests are well looked after, providing lots of tea and great conversations, whilst also keeping the amazing property and garden immaculate. The room itself was very clean and spacious, providing everything we needed and a great location being a short walk to the beach and restaurants. The host was kind to show us around the beautiful property where you can sit and relax whilst enjoying tea and watching the surrounding nature. They also have 2 lovely dogs who were very chilled out throughout our stay, one being an impressive 20 years old! and the other a very cute 4 year old. On request, they also cooked us a very delicious breakfast. Would highly recommend this great stay😊

The owners are the kindest people we've come across on our whole trip in Sri Lanka. Very helpful and always with a smile. The house is really beautiful and has a historical feell. Really nice to have the outside space and living room available for relaxing. We extended our stay because we loved it so much.

Not suitable for families This property lacks privacy, as the owners constantly interfere and occupy some rooms themselves. Even though I booked the entire home, they reserved one room for another guest and kept another for themselves, which felt intrusive. The owners essentially listen in on private conversations and peek into your rooms. It's more suited for backpackers, not family stays. The place was uncomfortably hot due to low ceilings and no air conditioning, lof mosquitoes. Despite paying extra for meals and fruit, the fruit was never provided and no water bottles and glasses in the rooms. The pillows and bed sheets were not clean, making for an unpleasant stay. When I raised concerns, the owners became defensive rather than helpful. Would not recommend for a family vacation.

The owners of the property were very welcoming and friendly, offering us tea as we arrived and at other points during our stay. The location was good, not far from the main road so it was easy to walk around Hikkaduwa from there.

We booked our room through booking.com and on the advert it said we would have aircon, it is actually extra money for aircon which we only found out when we arrived at the accommodation.

Very homely stay. Friendly and caring family, all the time offering tea. You can also eat with them or do laundry. It's in a very peaceful location surrounded by nature. The house is very beautiful and antique, I really enjoyed staying in it. Beach is 5min walk.

Just keep in mind you need to walk 15-20mins to reach the surf spot and a bit more to reach the Hikkaduwa beach. But there are tuktuks and bus available.
