Takamiya Ryokan Sagiya Sansorai

This was an amazing ryokan experience, with traditional Japanese decoration and beautiful and relaxing views of the gardens from the bedrooms, dining room, and public bath. The dinner and breakfast were exceptional and deserve a special mention! It is worth going even if just to experience fine Japanese cuisine.

The quality n selection of the dinners were exceptional

This was a beautiful onsen with both classical and modern aspects. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent, server at a table, different each day - no buffet! Room was spacious, lots of towels and kimonos. In room hot spring tub was great. Very friendly and caring staff. Perhaps the best overall onsen we have been to.

The only complaint is that the in room hot bath was a bit too small. A bit (15 cm) longer and 30 cm wider would have made it perfect.

The private bath with view to the garden was wonderful, and the view was amazing. The food was exceptional. The staff are extremely friendly, and helpful. I forgot my charger which powers all my devices and they brought it to my next accommodation for me.

The area has limited connectivity with public transit so expect to be stuck to specific times and sometimes long wait times for the train.

Staying here was honestly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. Make sure to get the meal service for dinner and breakfast, it was beyond incredible. We knew enough Japanese to communicate the basics, and every staff person was incredibly kind and accommodating.

Everything, the staff was very attentive, helpful, very welcoming. After arriving late in the night they came to pick us up from the station. When we were going out, they made sure we know what to do and offering a shuttle bus to and from the station. The set breakfast and dinner meals was super tasty, and with beautiful presentation of dishes as well. The accommodation was very comfortable, warm and cozy feeling. Everything was prepared to make sure we had an amazing stay. The bathhouse area has separate onsens for men and women, with each having both indoor and outdoor baths. Everything was clean and overall better than we expected! Great stay, we can’t recommend the place more!

Meal is very nice. But they have dinner time, so you should inform them in advanced what time is suitable for you.
