"Fabulous surroundings with great people. A fantastic experience which we would definitely do again."

9.0

What an amazing safari experience! The staff were fantastic, the tents were spotless and the food was excellent. Even though we were there in cold weather (we had been well advised to bring warm clothes thankfully), and some elephants had done a job on the water lines at the camp - we all enjoyed the whole experience immensely. The simple touches like the hot water bottles and blankets on the drives and the hot water bottles in our beds at night were wonderful. Sitting in the hot tubs and watching the stars was an experience in itself!

"Incredible"

I can't explain our experience in words. It was amazing! So much worth the money. The game drives where awesome. The rangers did so much effort to show us everything and told us interesting facts. We saw all the animals you could possibly see. They keep a fair distance from the animals. Try to stress as less as possible. The really live wild in this park. Such a difference with other game reserves. I do recommend everyone to go here!

"The long, interesting game drives and big 5 make the whole stay.... very professional."

The game drives are what make it and the isolation but with comfort

Cook didn't pitch for work for 3 days, so dinner could have been better

One of our favourite experiences of all time! The Team is unbelievable, the nicest people with crazy knowledge about nature and animals. It felt like hanging out with friends on one of the coolest spots on earth. - The Game Drives were amazing - The Food was outstanding - The tents were well equipped - Soaking in a Hot tub in the bush was out of this world - The stories shared are priceless We will try to come back asap and recommend it to our friends. Thanks again Julie, Riaan, Liam, Johan, Dan and team for the privilege to visit you at Quartermains

"Very good"

8.0

Super friendly staff, nice location, very personal and small set-up, well organized game drives and limited other vehicles in the reserve. Having a hot tub at every tent is a very nice way to end the day

We arrived on a day with some very, very rain and we and our luggage got soaked on the transfer from the parking to the tent. Nothing the sun the next day could not resolve but an avoidable mishap ( that undoutably will become a great bush annecdote soon ;-) )

"The highlight of our Garden Route escapade."

8.0

The food was simple but freshly prepared. The evening meal at around 19:30, was different each day, but always traditional S. African, e.g. Kudu in mushroom sauce. The following evening we had a stupendous Braai. All the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The Safari drives , 2 per day, each for 4 hours, were tremendous fun and the Guides kept us constantly updated with useful and fascinating facts about the Amakhala wildlife, and vegetation. Sometimes we were close to the animals, such as the monkeys, other times further away, so binoculars are really useful. Riaan's walking Safari for 2 hours, stalking elephant and white rhino was a highlight. Being only 6 guests in Camp at any time makes for a cosy and friendly and very personal atmosphere. We loved this whole experience. Be prepared for a variety of different weather conditions, it can be windy.

"If you really want to experience an African van safari of the heydays this is it."

10.0

A very rustic African feel to the camp and superb olden day decor made the venue and rooms feel as if you take a step back in time. The food was fantastic, especially the kudu stew. The rooms though spartan was clean and uniquely set up for both a rustic/ bush feel but still with proper bathroom facilities with hot water and a flushing toilet. We woke up to the sounds of the bush with lions roaring in the distance and baboons making a raucous just outside the camp. A big thank you to Riaan and Dan for the walking safari which had our heart rates up as we encountered lion and white rhinos. Also to Liam and Johan who did the guided vehicle safari’s, the level of knowledge and expertise is phenomenal and we never had a dull moment while traveling with either of them. We will definitely be back again.

Too short a stay, recommend 3 nights with cave sleeping.

"Exceptional"

Absolutely wonderful and everything lived up to expectations! Tents were really comfortable and the hot tub was an added bonus. Great food and atmosphere during meal times. The best thing about this place are the owners and staff who are all on hand to help and are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The guides were all very knowledgeable on the game drives and so enthusiastic and caring about the animals and the reserve.

Absolutely nothing to dislike!
