Wilpattu buma

Good location to the national park. The owner’s were very nice and the dinner was really tasty.

Apparently we had booked a basic double room so when we arrived the kettle and air-con remote had been taken out even though they where listed on the facility’s so we had to pay a extra £4 a night for aircon but everything else was great.

Amazing hosts - very welcoming and friendly, making you feel at home and always there for you while giving you plenty of space. Safari was fantastic arranged by them, and had a lovely walk round the lake behind the homestay. Best place I have stayed!

This is a very simple property that covers all the basic needs. Technically a homestay on a family property, it’s housed in a separate building within the premises, providing enough privacy. The room includes a fan, air conditioning, shower, kettle, and a bed with a mosquito net. What mattered most to me was the short distance to the Wilpattu entrance and the convenience of organizing a safari directly from the hotel (the jeep rental price was quite reasonable). I also had a local-style dinner at the owner’s home, which added a nice personal touch to the experience
