Good price, good location and staff were very friendly. Rooms were well furnished and had lots of extra blankets or pillows. The hotel also has its own onsen on the second floor. Heater worked well and there was complementary hot spring supplies. The staff was very friendly on check-in and check-out and the place has an elevator too if you have some heavy baggage. Location is only one corner away from the main restaurants and where most of the action happens, and is located right next to the bus stop too.

Smoking inside next to the onsen. Resulting in entire hotel smelling like smoke. Beds had dirty sheets with hair from previous customers

Traditional Japanese accommodation. The lady who runs this place is very sweet and did everything she could to assist us, despite us speaking no Japanese and her speaking little English. The in-house onsen is great to soak in after a day of skiing. The laundry is free for guests to use and washing powder is provided. We did not have breakfast included in our booking, but we took a peek at the breakfast on offer and it looked and smelled delicious!

Location is great for arriving in Nozawa Onsen on the bus BUT I must admit having to walk all the way up the hill to start the day of skiing does get rather tiring. Noise was also a problem - the shared basins were right outside our room and at all hours people would wake us up with loud chatter or by clearing their throats and sinuses.
