Grand Village Inn

Really good location close to everything, but still quiet and peaceful area. Breakfast restaurant by the main street (Bella, 50m to right from the intersection) was superb; affordable, good variety of local and western foods and fast service. Pretty, clean room with good wifi and AC. Good pool area. Nice staff, room cleaning by request. There’s a drinking water station at the reception.

Sunbeds by the pool were a bit shaky and one of them was broken. Our door was broken - you could lock it but it seemed so fragile that a good kick would have let anyone to come in. Place felt safe enough that we didn’t feel like complaining about it, so not a big problem for us. :)

Very clean appartment and very sweet and humble people. Would love to stau there again.

The hotel looked newly constructed so the fixtures and fittings were good. Local shops and restaurants and the beach are all within a 10 to 15 minute walk. A little off the beaten track so I used my phone torch if I was walking at night. The pool area was lovely although the plastic loungers were old and needed replacing. One had a crack all along the length of it. Staff were all extremely polite and helpful although I never quite figured out why my room was never cleaned for the whole time I was there (7 nights) when all the others appeared to be. I ended up leaving a full rubbish bag outside the door and it was removed but not replaced.

The first couple of days a large group of Asian men were staying. They were very noisy, smoked a lot by the pool area and made me feel quite uncomfortable as a solo female. I didn't think it was appropriate to have them stay there especially as it was generally more of a family oriented hotel. On arrival my non smoking room smelt strongly of cigarettes and even with the air con on it never dissipated. A couple of times the room key failed to work. They dealt with it promptly but I was still concerned I would be locked out when no-one was around to sort it. The hotel had a devout Muslim vibe which I felt I needed to go out of my comfort zone to respect. The TV in reception seemed to be constantly transmitting religious content. And there was a Muezzin who could be heard almost incessantly broadcasting over a PA system close by. Or maybe it was just the TV I could hear. I particularly didn't feel very relaxed while using the pool or sunbathing wearing a bikini.

The room is big and the location is good. Also the staff was very kind

Staff very friendly and helpful. Location is nice. Walking distance to restaurants and the beach. Washing machine is just a basic one. However, it is very helpful for us while we have been on travel status for a while.

Second bathroom could be better as it does not have any screen door.
