Lampiranta Log cabin

Die Lage und die Blockhütte waren der absolute Hammer – diese Gegend ist einfach magisch. Die Hütte selbst war unglaublich wunderschön und gemütlich, direkt an einem See gelegen. Alles war herrlich ruhig, abgelegen und sehr idyllisch – perfekt zum Abschalten. Nach Rovaniemi sind es etwa 3,5 Stunden Fahrt, zum nächsten Supermarkt ca. 1 Stunde. In der Blockhütte ist grundsätzlich alles vorhanden, was man für einen Aufenthalt benötigt.

Ein paar kleine Punkte gibt es dennoch zu bemängeln: Pro Person gab es leider nur ein Handtuch, was für mein persönliches Empfinden zu wenig war. Außerdem hat die Sauna leider nicht über 50 Grad geheizt. Schade fand ich auch, dass die Kommunikation gegen Ende nicht mehr stattgefunden hat. Ich habe mehrfach wegen Whirlpool-Spots und zusätzlicher Handtücher nachgefragt, leider ohne Rückmeldung, was ich persönlich nicht so gut finde.

We loved everything!! The hosts are super friendly, provided all the information we needed before the trip, not only about the cabin, but also about Hossa. The cabin was very cozy and it had everything. Even when it was freezing -20C outside, the cabin was very warm. Hossa itself was very serene, we enjoyed cross-country in the forest and on the frozen lakes. Some ready made tracks were excellent! Highly recommended!

Die Beaver Hütte hat uns vom ersten Moment an verzaubert… sie hat uns mit wunderschöner Beleuchtung im Schnee empfangen, gemütlich eingerichtet, warm, liebevolle Details. Hier hätten wir wochenlang bleiben können. Die Ruhe und Einsamkeit ist so wohltuend, lange Wanderungen in den Nationalparks im Schnee, gemütliche Abende in der Sauna, kochen, lesen, spielen. Wir werden definitiv wieder kommen! Der Kontakt mit Sophie & Marie war reibungslos und blitzschnell über WhatsApp und man konnte immer alles nachfragen und bekam sofort Hilfe.

Great location just off main road, a short drive (20 min) from the National Park and nearby walks. Forest with great sunset views over the lake on the opposite side of the road. Nice views to the pond & bird feeders, squirrels 🐿️ in the yard. Tidy & warm, good communication with owners. Ample supply of kitchenware for 2 people. Dog friendly 🐶 Suitable for a couple.

Just a few minor gripes. As others have noted, the sauna stove is slow to heat up and we couldn't get it past 55 deg (maybe fine if you're a foreign tourist & not used to sauna but too cold for Finns 😉). And a supply of single-use 'bench pads' would be good (luckily we brought our own). More cleaning products would be useful eg for kitchen & bathroom surfaces. And maybe some written instructions about rubbish disposal would be good (the small bin outside the cottage was already full when we arrived). We took all our recycling (cardboard plastic metal glass) with us when we left and recycled it at Puolanka S-Market. And a tip for using Chromecast with your own device: you need to hold down the button until it flashes slowly orange then quickly orange & turns white. This resets it & is needed otherwise it remembers the last person who connected & won't allow new connections. It's good to then reset it again when you leave.
