double rooms too small

Mountain hotel isolated in the woods. Warm and cosy, although rather basic. Friendly staff. If you want to have dinner (which we hadn't) you have to inform the hotel in advance. Perfect base for those who love hiking.

Breakfast was poor. Industrial products and very limited choice.

Beds and especially matresses could be better

Been here on a family trip as a child 40 years ago, and booked at the same location out of tradition. Even after so many decades, the surroundings remained the same quiet forest landscape, with fantastic hiking trails, hills and castles "just next door". The hotel has been refurbished in the meantime, and more than meets the expectations of today's backpackers. Breakfast is simple but will give you a good start for the day. Altogether, the room was worth the price, will definitely return here for more trips in the coming years.

The room was sparingly equipped with power sockets, but an extension cord can easily fix the issue. I missed the à-la-carte restaurant of the past, but it is understandable that demands have changed much since then...

The hotel is right inside the forest, so the location is very nice, peaceful, and quiet. There are tons of hiking options around the building, and some pleasant parks are in walking distance too. The building may seem a bit ran-down on the outside, but the rooms are fine. Breakfast is simple continental stuff, but also good. Compared to other places in the area this one is very good value.

There's no air conditioning or any ventillation in the room, and not even a mini fridge to keep anything cool. There are no general stores or supermarkets in the vicinity, so it's impossible to keep food or drinks in the room during a warm day. Doors are not soundproofed, so all noise comes in from the corridors. Staff seemed a bit untrained, but it wasn't an issue.
