Kondessa Corfu Old Town Apartment

Great location just a short walk from the harbour and local swimming spot and easy access to bus station about 10 minute stroll. Lovely clean apartment with good facilities. Dimitria met us on arrival and left us a delicious home made cake and bottle of wine, along with a lot of basic food items which were a great help.

Only slight issue was the smaller bedroom window rattled whenever a car went past. Fortunately it wasn’t too often.

The host’s parents met us at the property and explained everything. The kitchen was very well equipped and generously supplied with essentials including tea, coffee, milk, water and extras including a delicious cake baked by Penny’s mum; wine, jam, honey and Kumquait liqueur. The apartment was exceptionally clean and nice and cool in the heat of August, with fully functioning air con in every room. The location was perfect, with only a few minutes walk to a lovely place to swim, and a selection of restaurants nearby. It is also right near to the Asian Art Museum and the Liston, making it very central. All in all I can’t fault it and would definitely stay here again.

The only issue we found was that the bed in the smaller room was very hard! Other than that it was perfect and even that would be okay if you prefer hard beds!

Everything! Apartment is excellent and spotlessly clean. Has everything you could possibly need! Location brilliant! Penny's mother and father met us and they are the nicest people ever! Would most definitely come back to Kondessa Apartment.

Nothing! An absolutely marvellous apartment to stay in and hosts extremely pleasant and accommodating. I rate Kondessa apartment very highly in every way!

Everyone was very helpful - once we were able to contact them. The apartment was absolutely fine and the owners had laid in some basics so that we could have a cup of coffee and a sandwich before turning in for the night. They had also kindly provided a non-slip shower mat and a small plastic stool that my wife (who has MS) was able to make use of in the shower. We didn't spend massive amounts of time in the apartment but were very comfortable whilst we were there. There is a small mini-market just a minute's walk away which was also useful.

We were unable to make contact with the person who was supposed to meet us and give us the keys. Neither texts nor calls got through This was a mobile phone issue and in the end a waitress in a local bar with a local landline was able to put us in touch with the key-holder who arrived soon afterwards. Although this is nobody's fault, things are rendered more difficult due to the fact that there are many narrow streets in the Old Town where the apartment is located and by UK standards, it doesn't seem to have a specific address or postcode. Arriving late at night in an area you don't know can often be difficult, people are tired and maybe a bit grouchy; I think it might be worthwhile for the owners to invest in a map of the immediate area and perhaps a keybox. Also I think it would be useful to have a 'house folder' detailing local facilities, contact numbers, how to control hot water provision and so on

Penny's mother came to meet us at the main street to hand us the keys and show us the apartment. Very lovely lady and she had baked a delicious cake for us (Efaristó :-)). There were also some water bottles, a wine bottle, coffee, tea, bread and some local jam waiting for us. We really appreciated the gesture. The apartment was fully furnished with everything we could need for a 10 days stay (kitchen well furnished, washing machine, iron + ironing board, TP, showergel, shampoo, towels and bed supplies). It was extremely hot during our stay, but we had no issue with the heath in the apartment as it is located at the ground floor and has AirCon. The apartment is located in a historical small backstreet, just 2-3 minutes from Liston Square and other interesting places. There is a small grocery store some 100 meters from the apartment which sells fresh local fruit. Communication with Penny was always very easy and she sent as an amazing list of restaurant recommendations. Make sure to book a table for dinner at Salto Wine Bar, which is just about 6 minutes by foot from the apartment. We really enjoyed our stay at Penny's cosy Kondessa apartment and would stay there again

The only con was that we woke up every morning to people talking, and bikes passing right next to the bedroom window. The appartment is located on the ground floor, which helped against the heath, but worked also as a morning alarm.

very conveniently located in the old town, super well equipped with everything can think of (kettle, iron and iron board, kitchen utensils, washing machine...). Kind and responsive host who made us feel super welcomed

the apartment is on street level and doesn’t get so much light, but it’s a quaint and chilled alley with pretty much no cars. actually we quite enjoyed drinking coffe on the doorstep.
