Hotel Archana Inn

Location and staff behaviour was excellent. The hotel is in the middle of city and it is easy to go to any place in Ernakulam from there. Restaurant is not in the same property but in an opposite building (seems sharign with another hotel) , but is OK and you just have to cross the road. Parking is also the same way. Not in the same property but in the opposite hotel wher they also have the restaurant. Though is is odd , it is not inconvenient.

We booked a tripple bed room for 4 people., all of us above 50. There is no lift and the room was in 2nd floor. It is OK as all of us walked up, but this could be a problem for senior citizens. Also the corridor is narrow. Room appreared neat and so was the bath room. However, there was a smell typical of unused rooms. Therefore more cleanliness would have been better

Archana Inn is in the city center. Best for shopping . Easy to get auto, cab...walking distance to reastaurant. Best room I've stayed in India. Although we needed to walk up stairs, no lift., the room compensated for it. There was tea and coffee making facility. Great, I loved the room. Staff (Jinesh) was helpful in booking train tickets for us.

Laundry was promised to be charged by the kilos by Jinesh, but i was charged a whopping Rps 950. which was more than the total cost of 4 train tickets to Alleypay. I was cheated, but had no choice, but to pay for it. Secondly, we asked for a car to go to chotanikara temple, and sightseeing, but was not available and given auto instead. car was rps 2500, auto rps2000, as informed by Jinesh. No iteneray was sent by Jinesh, just said the auto guy knows. Auto guy was a roudy, taking us where he wanted to go, and forcing us to go for boating...which we resisted. Then he became aggressive....always giving us instructions; it was a very bad experience with the auto guy, please avoid him. His name is Siva, with SAFE Tours & Travels.Please beware of this man. He is really very rude and aggressive. Upon dropping us, when we paid, RPs2000, we said it cost an extra RP 500 coz we went to chotanikara temple. WHICH WAS NOT conveyed to us before the trip... Again cheated and had to pay.... So, please be very careful with the tours Jinesh suggests for you and always confirm the price before departing.
