Residenza Sant'Eustachio

Maria Rosalia provided generously for our breakfast (and more) including home baking. The apartment is well furnished and in a great location, close to the Sassi districts.

The host, Maria, arranged to meet me at the parking which although a little confusing went off without a problem. The apartment was large and comfortable. The breakfast provided in the apartment was amazing with all the sweet/savoury items made by the host. Matera is a mandatory city to visit with not only its history but great food and an unexpected uniqueness. Make sure you add on an extra day to any itinerary you may be planning. The location of this apartment could not have been better.

Getting confused between Via XX Settembre and Vico XX Settembre.

This is an exceptional property with amazing hosts. Everything and more is provided and it was lovely to have separate kitchen, bedroom and living room. It is stylishly designed and the high ceilings make the rooms feel even larger. We had enough food provided for many days and it was lovely to have fresh fruit as well as focaccia, crostata, cheese, meat, yoghurt and the list continues. So many thoughtful extras are also provided including a sewing kit! Matera is magical and the apartment is in an excellent location to access the stassi and everything else Matera has to offer.

The hosts were incredibly nice and welcoming. Refrigerator full of anything needed for breakfast, great location right next to the old town. The hosts even left small Easter chocolate gifts for the kids and a pair of nice comfi socks.

You need excellent driving skills for parking :) But that's valid pretty much for all of Italy :)

Well located, spacious and set up perfectly for what we needed! My friend and I had a room each, the breakfast was delicious and all the home baked goods kept us sorted until the end of our stay.

What generous B&B hosts Maria-Rosario & Francesco are. The well-decorated apartment was beautiful and comfortable, the kitchen was large, stocked with all sorts of delicious delicacies from the area, fruits, coffee, water plus delicious homemade breads. The bedroom is spacious and comfortable. The hosts have a lot of local guide books and pamphlets to help figure out your day’s adventures. One thing we found out while we were there was that a portion of the last James Bond film was made in Matera. That’s cool for James Bond fans and the locations are easily accessible on foot, except for the graveyard scene and the aqueduct which were not in Matera. Back to the apartment- as I said, very comfortable and so conveniently located to visit the Sassi of Mattera and a good place to put your feet up after a day of an exploring the area. Very highly recommend. We’d come back here again!
