Villa Hembers Surf Camp

If you want to live very authentically with inspiring locals, this is the place for you. The host and everyone who stayed here were very friendly. The bedroom is very basic and doesn't offer much comfort, but .... The time of only 3 days seemed extremely long to us and we experienced a lot. Thanks to the tips from the locals, we were not only able to explore a pristine waterfall and go surfing, but also We were able to gain many insights into their everyday lives. . Thank you very much for the wonderful moments in the evening when we exchanged stories and sang.

The staff is a family, and they were very nice people. I was the only one at the hostel, since it wasn't a surfing either dry season. But they shared their food with me, spent time playing games, so i felt very taken care of. They even took me for an event at a different beach, it was fun. I was also allowed to use their bicycle when I needed to go and buy something. There's a kitchen that I could use, many ropes to hang your clothes, lots of social areas to chill, a beautiful mango tree and a garden. Tea, coffee and drinking water are available.

The beds were a bit too soft for my liking, but it could be just me.

All people have been super kind, and beside being the perfect place to relax and live the "simple life", there are so many options to do things: get surf lessons, rent a surf board, enjoy the beach, rent a scooter to reach river boat tours, caves, or anything around, see/help with the turtles,... I hope to manage to come back one day!

The property was amazing ! Such a great vibe and atmosphere. I loved the host Chobuh who made myself and my friends feel very welcome :). He helped us at every opportunity! Would love to stay again

Highly recommend staying here! great location for surfing, and a place to chill and meet locals and other travellers too. Cubo was incredibly hospitable and welcoming felt like we were apart of the family! Was super helpful organising transport, scooter etc for us too. Thanks so much and we will be back!!

Cubo, the host, was amazing! He is a nature conservationalist, by saving baby turtles and planting a big mangrove forest! He also gave us surfing lessons and he and his friends & family cooked for us. It was a really special experience, I will always remember it! The location was a less than a minute walk from the beach 💙 I wish we could stay longer, and will definitely try to return here! I recommend this to all travellers who are okay with a bit less luxury, and have a passion for nature.

The bathroom amenities were a bit lacking. The shower/toilet combo was really small and no good space to put your towel/dry clothes/shampoo and stuff. It was also not heated, but thats okay. Some beds didn't have a mosquito net.

The place was a little piece of heaven in Pacitan. Super amazing experience, very friendly and welcoming hosts. I will definitly come back!
