Equalia boutique hotel

It was right on the beach and outside area was small but very nice and staff were friendly and helpful especially the manage and girl behind the bar

They only had one town room which was at the back no view and very noisy

We only really liked the local staff that worked there. They were all very nice and helpful. The location is also nice being right on the beach but pretty far from all the shops and restaurants.

Zanzibar was supposed to be a nice relaxing time for us for only 5 nights after doing a lot of activities, so we really wanted to splurge on a nice room with a balcony overlooking directly onto the beach. Given all the booking photos and description, we thought thats what we were paying for, however when we arrived they gave us a room on the bottom floor overlooking the breakfast area, which almost completely covered the ocean view from our window. We were of course very disappointed and asked about the original room we had booked and they pointed to an automatic message they had sent on booking AFTER the non refundable booking was made, warning us that we might get a room on wither the top or bottom floor. This did not seem fair to us at all since we were very intent on getting a specific room and even paid extra for it. Furthermore, starting 7am in the morning we could hear everyone talking and moving in the breakfast area which made sleeping difficult. We didint feel comfortable with the room and the way the management decided to handle situation so we left after the 2nd night and booked a much nicer place. When we try to explain the situation to the foreign owned management they refused to hear us and refused to give any refund at all. Even when we reached out to Booking and Booking was willing to refund for the remaining 3 nights the management still refused to respond to booking. So the number 1 reason why we highly do not recommend staying here is the owner/management who are not friendly nor reasonable nor fair. They don't seem to care about customer satisfaction.

The staff were very nice

I liked the sea in front of the hotel, the staff, the location for restaurants and shops. Also we took a trip on a sailing boat that was incredible.

Our stay at Equalia boutique hotel was phenomenal. For us, the two best aspects of our stay was the location and the staff. The location was prime - on the beach. From the room you could access the beach within a few seconds. Great views for breakfast and dinner! The staff was also beyond helpful. If we ever had a problem or needed something they were available to help immediately. They helped us with scooter and car rentals within 10 minutes and every need was attended to. Most importantly, they were always friendly and attentive and made us feel like we were at home. The hotel was always cleaned meticulously and every was very organised. It was great value for money and we were more than happy with our stay! We also got to meet and socialise with many different guests thanks to the awesome environment provided by the hotel set up. It’s close to beach and very beautiful and chilled

I loved everything about the place , but they should install air conditioning fan it’s not enough sometimes the weather gets too hot.

Next to the beach. Staff very friendly. Food is good/breakfast. The outside facility is great.
