Casa Cala D'or

Great location with great facilities.

The location is the main draw, overlooking the beach and very close to restaurants and shops. The apartment was spacious and beds were comfortable with plenty wardrobe / drawer space. The balcony was a good size. The kitchen was also very well equipped with a washing machine which came in handy. The pool wasn’t busy so plenty of space with loungers there. You also have direct access to the beach from the pool.

There is an issue with chalk in the water causing constant problems with the toilets. Someone had to come out during our stay to fix them. The bathrooms especially were in need of an update and they didn’t feel clean as a result. The air con in the main bedroom is old and would only go on for 10mins before shutting off. I did contact the owner about this but just had a reply to refer to the manual. The balcony furniture isn’t like the photos, there are no loungers but there are reclining chairs. There are quite a number of steps down to the pool area so we couldn’t take the pram down, making it difficult with a small child and the pool area looked quite tired. There is a high chair but with no straps or table attachment so I couldn’t leave my baby alone it. Finally the kitchen does have salt, pepper, oil etc but this has clearly been bought/left by other guests. There were quite a few out of date dried food items in the cupboard left by others dating back several years so the cleaners do not attend to this or the fridge.

The 2 toilets did not flush well at all - which proved to be embarrassing on occasion & by the end was quite annoying. There were no spare bin liners for the main rubbish bin in the kitchen & the 2 bins on the toilets - & we were expected to empty the bins during our stay .

The location was amazing. Right beside Gran Cala (the beach). The balcony over looks the Cala and the beach is a minute walk down the steps. You really can’t beat this place

Location: access to beach below. Beautiful views. Kitchen pretty well equipped. Loved having a washer. Very close to shops, groceries & restaurants. Owners were very responsive when we contacted them.

1 fry pan with peeling teflon. For some reason we had a constant banging of water pipes after 1st day. Bathrooms a little tired. No beach towels. Further from town than we figured. Made for an hr drive to airport or ferry.
