The hotel is in a quiet and nice location. The rooms are very clean. I really liked that the hotel provides free breakfast: Obertraun is quite small, so we did not have to worry about what to eat in the morning. The hotel owners are very nice. IMPORTANT: If you want to take a bus to Hallstatt, you can pay with a credit card right on the bus. And make sure to bring cash! We were unable to ride a boat cause the boat company refuses to accept cards, which is extremely irrational in the 21st century for such a touristy place. Paying interchange fees is well worth it if that brings more business!

When you just arrive, it's pretty easy to confuse the hotel entrance and the private entrance where the owners live. But this is a very minor issue. Tiled bathroom floors get pretty cold in the evening and at night, so make sure to bring slippers!
