Casa Verdemare

Location is great. It’s a short walk to Marina grande in a short walk down from Capri center. The property itself is beautifully situated with panoramic views, and on site citrus Grove, and views from a hot tub or outdoor dining table.

This property are being built as luxury was not. Many things upon arrival were not working or broken. Minor things included lightbulbs that were out, gas being turned off initially, outlets that didn’t work, missing supplies (soap, broom, etc) heat settings or machines that needed to be reset… all small enough. The issue we had was mostly with some major things were really unfortunate and made for a tough stay and not what you would expect out of a luxury apartment. We had one bedroom door (it had one door that only opens to an outdoor patio) that was broken and would not close meaning someone had to spend the three nights there with a door that wasn’t fully functioning. One of the room bathrooms also never had hot water until the last few hours of our stay requiring that person to walk outside, up a flight of stairs, and bathe in a different part of the house every day. The main cabinet door in the kitchen was falling off the hinges so every time we had to get a plate or a dish or a cup we ran the risk of breaking a door. On a personal note, we rarely complain about things, but some of these really were major problems and simply had to be addressed. It seems like the apartments are flipped too quickly, and small things are not checked for in between visits. The staff was responsive enough, and it was a holiday weekend, so I think they’ve done all they could given the lack of maintenance available during a holiday. Still, we felt that the issues required constant communication throughout our three days day and it really took away from really enjoy enjoying the property when we were constantly in communication trying to resolve issues. And for the price we paid just didn’t feel luxury or even satisfactory.

We loved everything about this property! Gennaro was an extremely kind and welcoming host, going above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. He picked up groceries for us prior to our stay and helped us get last minute transport when our booked taxi failed to show. The lodging exceeded our expectations, especially when it came to the patio views and the gorgeous garden.

The location can be tricky for a taxi drop off/pickup because the entrance is located on a curved road. That said, our drivers always figured it out, and we wouldn’t have traded the peaceful and scenic walk through the gardens for an easier pick up point.

No wifi in half the house and we were not told until we asked, big issue for me as one of the downstairs bedrooms is a signal deadzone too so i couldnt use my phone or read emails., Cleaners turn up unannounced without warning and enter into the house daily then they will stay in a private area under the house for staff where you are told you are not allowed in. If you value privacy this could be an issue like it was for us, we had to verify who they were with the host who hadn't told us to expect them nor did they come at the same time daily so very hard to know when they will walk in on you. Also getting cabs is very difficult in Capri and the host was unable to get you one and sometimes just sent us a number that didn't answer, despite stating he could arrange one when needed. Not necessarily the host's fault but just a warning that cabs are difficult and at times just don't want your money, there's an app but you will need a local number to use it.

Great property 5 minutes from Marina Grande, excellent location 4 Bedrooms 3 Bathrooms 2 balconies plus you have the big garden with Lemon trees is just excellent. also big thanks to Gennaro who helped us a load to accommodate our self in Capri and was available to assist us even on Sunday. 🫡🍋🙏
