Happy Homestay Banlung & Trekking

The bed was big and comfy and the window shutters shut out all of the light which made for a great sleep. It was nice to have a bathroom for myself as well as a table and chairs in the room.

We noticed the host lied to us quite a few times unecessarily and we felt a bit deceived. For example, the moment we arrived we were assured there was hot water (without us asking) which there clearly never was and we were also told he was the only one offering a certain tour when we later found out other people had done the same thing.

Mr happy is a very pleasant man, who can help you with your holiday plans, like trekking etc.

There was a giant cockroach covered in ants on the floor and there no toiletries as advertised- complete dung heap

Wow I loved this place, so relaxing and so much to do. Mr happy is very laid back and friendly. We went out and ate food together, I did the trekking and had so much fun. I could not recommend this place enough - just book a room!!!

The house is hide in a street at the border with nature, but also has the perfect location: not too near to the center and not too far from it. Inside is all wood-made and so nice.

The owner said no welcome to khmer people so me as a Cambodian was very disappointed

I loooved it here. I stayed a day longer and I was already staying a week. The room is big and beautiful, the bed is big and cosy, the bathroom is great and the water pressure is unexpectedly good too. I loved how helpful Mr Happy was in helping me rent a bike. I cycled everywhere. The location is perfect as it's close to lots of interesting local food places and a lovely coffee stall. I feel like I've made a friend for life in Mr Happy and in Banlung I've found a home away from home. I cannot wait to come back. Oh and the internet was fab too, as a digital nomad I had no problems working from here.

Price, lanch and breakfast, and the host was nice, he provided free cut fresh watermelon after breakfast :-)

all the sounds from the neighboring room can be clearly heard through the partitions of the room, and since there was a family with three children staying there, it was necessary to wait until they calmed down and then I could fall asleep, and in some places you can see what the neighbors are doing through the gaps in the wooden wall, the same in the toilet.

Very cosy place, rooms with good space, shadow area to relax in hammocks and tables to have food any time. Mr. Happy organized a 3 day jungle tour for our family (with two boys 12 and 14). We had a great time together with Mr. Tho and his friend as guides. We learned so much about Kavet minority, plants to eat and to heal, fishing, using bamboo for cooking, drinking, rafting, building..., housing, farming... amazing! We really loved it to be on the trip with those guys! Highly recommend, both tour and Mr. Happy homestay 😊
