La Villa Joubert

The location and staff at Villa Joubert are truly unbeatable—this was honestly one of the most peaceful and beautiful places I’ve ever stayed. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely at ease. The pool area is absolutely magical: perfect for lounging while listening to the soft sound of the ocean in the distance, birdwatching over the lagoon, and soaking in the incredible surroundings. You can even watch farmers tending to their crops below, adding to the sense of connection with the land. Each day began and ended with breathtaking views—enjoying breakfast and dinner overlooking the lagoon was a highlight I’ll never forget. The sunsets here are something else entirely—some of the most spectacular I’ve ever seen, painting the sky with colors that feel almost unreal. The staff were genuinely warm and helpful throughout my stay. They went out of their way to help coordinate transport around Oualidia and were always kind, attentive, and welcoming. Their hospitality made the experience even more special. I left Villa Joubert feeling grounded, refreshed, and so grateful for the experience. I couldn’t recommend it more highly.

I opted for the “budget-friendly” room, which had a lovely sitting area overlooking the garden. However, upon arrival, I did notice a lingering cigarette smell. I immediately informed the staff, who were incredibly accommodating and arranged for me to stay in another room that night while they thoroughly re-cleaned the original one. Although the smell was still faintly present when I returned, I really appreciated their efforts and was happy to move forward with my stay. That said, the AC in that room unfortunately didn’t function properly—it would beep and shut off every few minutes—so I chose to sleep without it. Additionally, due to the room’s location, I could hear early morning staff activity, which made it a bit harder to rest. For these reasons, I wouldn’t personally recommend the budget room, but I do believe this is a one-off situation. The restaurant meals were hit or miss—some days absolutely delicious, others a bit underwhelming—but overall, the charm of Villa Joubert and the warm hospitality really stood out. I’m confident that if I had stayed in one of the other rooms, I’d be giving five stars across the board. Don’t let these small issues deter you—just consider choosing one of their other lovely room options!

Such a beautiful hotel with a unique view on the lagoon I will never forget! Really enjoyed the pool and the walk around the property. Hotel is 5 min by car from Oualidia, which is really convenient and also gives a restful feeling of being remote. Staff super helpful and amazing dinners at the hotel. A stay me & my family will remember!

Villa Joubert is a uniquely located boutique hotel built with amazing design and detail. The staff are amazing and make it a very personalised experience, meals were very good (breakfast and dinner)

Sadly no liquor license, beer/ wine would have been nice
