"Great if you want somewhere cheap and isolated"

6.0

Cheap price. Nice to be alongside a river. Great view of Mount kinabalu Good to go swimming in the river

The staff were practically none existent. We got showed our room on arrival and then the guy disappeared. We had to figure out where the kitchen was and how to use the stove. Also had to figure out how to turn electric on for the showers. There was no one around for our entire stay One night the power went out, we didn't hear a thing from the owner. So we had to text him to find out what's going on. For three days, there was no wifi because the whole village had been cut off from the Internet. Our host kindly lent us his phone to tether to, but this was after I had to proactively pester him for a solution. The village offers very little. There's no restaurants and the shops there have very little to offer. Really limited to a few types of fruit/veg, rice and noodles. Plus good selections of crisps and chocolate. But very little healthy foods. There are no taxis or bus services here, it really is out in the sticks. No marked hiking trails.

"Expect basics facilities"

8.0

It's quite far from the town but I think it's because of the bad road to get to the village. However, the view of Mt. Kinabalu & Mt. Nungkok in the morning make this place worth the travel.

The facilities could be upgraded in terms of cleanliness.
