Hotel boutique Palacio de la Veracruz

La ubicación del hotel es perfecta, la habitación era amplia y comodísima, y la atención brindada estupenda, nos sentimos como en casa, quiénes llevan este hotel son personas muy preparadas y además muy amables y empáticas. Cuando vuelva a Alcalá la Real ya tengo donde ir. Además, por otro lado, el tema del aparcamiento se solucionó muy bien, tienen un sistema con el aparcamiento público debajo de los jardines mediante el cual se aparca el vehículo con una tarifa diaria y con la posibilidad de salir y volver a entrar en el mismo día sin ningún gasto añadido.

El hospedaje super limpio y bonito, una habitación espaciosa, el baño agadable y cómodo, super bien ubicado, incluso tenía una especie de pequeño desayuno sencillo para comenzar el día, el personal super amable

The room was gorgeous, very clean, and quiet — ideal for a short stay. The shower was large with plenty of hot water, and there were ample towels provided. I also loved having two small patios overlooking the alley; they added charm and made the space feel more open. And tall ceilings also helped! Once I was finally able to check in, the process itself was straightforward, and I was given a map and recommendations for food and drinks. There’s also a small grocery store about a 6-minute walk away, which made it easy to grab snacks. I only stayed one night, but the room itself was comfortable and well maintained. The property is close to Fortaleza de la Mota which is the only reason I visited Alcalá la Real. And Fortaleza de la Mota is much more fascinating than Alhambra, in my opinion!

There is no on-site parking, so I had to use a paid parking lot nearby — something to be aware of if you’re traveling by car. Before arrival, I missed a call from reception. When I called back, introduced myself, and explained I was returning a missed call, the front desk agent said, “Yes, I’m calling from reception.” When I replied, “Oh — from where?” the call was abruptly disconnected. That interaction came across as rude and unprofessional. Most importantly, you cannot check in during what would normally be considered standard hotel check-in hours, 2-5pm, which is very unusual. I arrived in heavy rain and had to find shelter elsewhere until check-in was allowed. I also really missed having basic in-room amenities like a hot water kettle and a small fridge. I like being able to make coffee, tea, or simple meals like soup while traveling, especially in the evening. Coffee service was available downstairs in the morning, but having a kettle in the room would have been far more convenient. I ended up storing food on one of the patios since it was cold outside. Overall: A beautiful, clean, and quiet property with a lovely room, but restrictive check-in policies, lack of parking, missing in-room basics, and an unfriendly/strange phone interaction detracted from the experience. I would stay here again, though. Final update after the property’s response: I reviewed our message history and there was only one message requesting an arrival time, to which I replied that I expected to arrive between 2–3pm. The response I received was unclear and did not state that the property would be closed from 2–5pm or that accommodations would be made to meet me outside those hours. When I arrived, I reread the message and realized the property was closed during that time, which I found unusual. There were no phone service issues, and based on the tone of their response, I have lowered my rating and would not stay here again.

Una habitación preciosa con mucho encanto. Volveremos a visitaros ya que el tiempo no nos ha permitido visitar detenidamente Alcalá. Todo muy limpio
