Masseria Cataldo

Lovely place to discover Salento and to relax. Property is beautifully situated in nature. Room with small garden, is beautiful and clean. Swimming pool surrounded by nature is a plus. Gaetano and Danielle are very sweet hosts who make you feel at home and take the time to give you tips. Dinner and the cooking workshop are recommended and a unique experience. Thank you for the beautiful days.

Leaving

Masseria Cataldo is a little paradise. The perfect spot to wind down and relax but also to explore Salento. The rooms and property is very nicely renovated, our personal highlight was the pool area where we spent most mornings and evenings after a day of exploring the region. Geatano and Daniela were extremely nice and prepared the most delicious breakfast and dinner for us. Geatano recommended his favorite spots in Salento and helped us every morning to figure out the perfect plan for the day! It’s a magical place and I would highly recommend staying here!

There is nothing that we did not like!

Oasis of calm and tranquility. Would urge guests to have delicious home- cooked tasting menu. Breakfast was outstanding and the kindness of the hosts was second to none. Gaetano and Daniella have created a very special place. Evening trip to Otranto was nice and had a nice evening also in the local town. Most food is sourced from the Masseria and locally. Because there are only 3 rooms, you have impeccable service.

Great location, the hosts are extremely welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and the Masseria Is perfect to slow down and recharge your batteries.

We stayed at Masseria Cataldo for 4 nights and could have easily stayed longer. Our room was lovely - comfortable and private, only one of three. We often used our private terrace to relax: it and the picturesque pool area were particularly good to use in the late afternoon after a day’s exploring. Gaetano and Daniela could not have been kinder or more helpful - each morning Gaetano offered us information about the area, what to do and how to get there. Daniela even gave me some cooking tips! Breakfast was superb - each morning was different; fruit and locally sourced yoghurt and fresh cheese, Puglian pastries, homemade preserves and great coffee. We ate dinner ‘at home’ one evening - Daniela cooked a tasting menu which was outstanding! Gaetano booked local restaurants for us to try - delicious. As the masseria is in the middle of the Salento, we needed to use our car to sightsee each day. However, driving wasn’t difficult and we managed to discover gorgeous beaches and ancient towns to explore. We would not hesitate to recommend Masseria Cataldo: Gaetano and Daniela have created something very special.

Masseria Cataldo was fantastic, the hosts were so welcoming and the food was excellent - it was such a treat to wake up to fresh pastries and cakes every morning! The pool is lovely and the location is right in the centre of Salento, so easy to reach everything. We couldn’t recommend Masseria Cataldo more!

It’s a true paradise in Salento and perfect if you are looking for a calm, sustainable and extremely beautiful place. Daniela‘s and Gaetano‘s hospitality was outstanding!
