We had such a wonderful stay. It was so nice to have that much space. A 3 floor house just for us and our suitcases. The house was beautiful, traditional Japanese, which was part of the experience. Located super close to many travel destinations. Walking distance and close to bus stops. And the staff was wonderful. We forgot something on the property and she contacted us immediately and went through a lot of trouble to get it back to us.

The location is amazing! Truly in the heart of Gion. Close walk to many things. Convenient for train and bus transport to everything else. Close to a Yamato shipping site if you want to use that. Was wonderful to have so much space to spread out. Beds in the Western style rooms were very comfortable.

Need more places to hang towels. The house can accommodate many people. Once we did laundry and used rack for clothes, there was no place for towels. Speaking of laundry, directions for the washer would be super helpful. Google translate of settings will only get you so far (dehydrate vs air dry?). Directions for AC units would also be nice, but I did figure them out. It is important for people to know the stairs are STEEP and narrow. Most traditional homes will be similar, but you should be aware. I found the futon mattresses to be quite thin and not very comfortable compared to others on trip. Thankfully, 3 and 4 year olds will sleep on anything.

Great location in Gion area.

There is no WiFi (the host did tell us in advance). The building blocks WiFi, so you can only connect from the same floor if you have a shared mobile WiFi device. The kitchen was sparsely equipped, e.g. only three forks and no tea kettle. Strange construction on the stairs to the 2nd floor blocked the lower step. A hole in the wall where a socket had been removed. Empty look with nothing on the walls.

Fantastic location, typical Japanese house for an authentic experience.

No parking and parking arounds are ridiculously expensive. Beware if you come with a rent car.

Location was fantastic! Very central to everywhere you might be interested in going as a tourist!

falling apart, shower and wash basin have cracks, no wifi, mentions parking is available which is street parking (metered, ~30$ overnight). missing cutlery, glasses, plates etc, drank beer from a coffee cup.
