360 Beach Residence

Great value for money, which is the main reason to stay here and for this rating (comparing to comparably-priced places, not to hotels in general). One block off the beach in the middle of a good strip in Negombo, so lots of choice for restaurants. I initially booked to be closer to the airport (I had been at a conference on the southern side of Colombo, 90 minutes from the airport even without traffic, and had an early morning departure on my final day, so this was 20 minutes from the airport instead). Although the hotel was on the main street and at an intersection, the traffic noise was not an issue. Samantha (the owner) was very friendly and he was also seemingly always available at any hour (I saw him throughout the day and I got messages from him in the middle of the night). Room was clean.

I did have some work to do, but there was not a desk in the room (although there was room to have one). Wifi was unstable and unreliable. Bathroom could have used a shower divider and proper plumbing for the sink drain - floor was always wet. These would be inexpensive fixes - I recognize the overall value for the money. Breakfast was fine, but the hotel (which is basically just a few individual rooms) is not set up for breakfast upstairs and seemed surprised I had booked it with my room. Probably easier for guests and for the hotel to book the room without breakfast and just to go to one of the many breakfast places along the street.

Excellent location, right across from the beach with restaurants at your door and along the esplanade. The host was excellent and very friendly and provided one of the best breakfasts I had in SL - great variety. Highly recommended.

Very kind host, he gave me a welcome drink and I could do the laundry which was very nice. The place clean and spacious.

The beds are a to soft for me at least. Next to very busy street, Saturday is the worst rest of the days is fine.
