"Exceptional traditional Japanese hotel with private Onsen."

10.0

Lovely stay with a lovely host staff/owner. Great food, if you want rural Japan this is it. You will need a car as its up in the mountains but stunning when you get there. Exceptional traditional Japanese hotel with a private Onsen.

"Irori und herzliche Gastlichkeit"

10.0

"A Gem hidden in the mountains near Nikko"

9.0

The owner/hostess Mi-Chan was extremely welcoming and also great fun to be around. The dinner was exceptional and the breakfast was also great, even for someone like me who is not usually a fan of Japanese breakfasts. A night at this place is definitely worth the effort of a drive/bus ride over the mountain.

Nothing to complain about. It's an hour's drive from central Nikko, but you will be rewarded for the effort. The language barrier is easily bridged with a little flexibility, plenty of smiling and your phone's translation function.
