Shanalulu Sands - full inverter

Very nice location directly on the beach, well equipped. Martin was a nice host.

A few things could be cleaner.

No breakfast. Excellent location

Need New coffee machine. Ours was melted and did not work... We left early and there is no key box.

Location on beach, albeit nearly impossible for an older person or small toddler to climb the few rocks to get down to the beach. Seating outside. A small counter on the viewing deck by the tall chairs would be great. Pool, albeit tiny - I can’t imagine the whole property’s guests being in the pool all at once! Parking on the property. Outside shower to rinse off. Power during load shedding (when there’s no electricity). To our surprise, the kitchen was stocked with a few seasoning products, and all the utensils one could need. There was ice. Everything was clean enough. Martin was friendly and helpful when we eventually interacted. There’s ample cupboard space in the bedrooms but I never understand why holiday accommodation requires as much. Rooms could have a little more space.

The housekeeper/caretaker (Martin) was not available/at the property at all on the first day/evening we were there. This was inconvenient as we needed a few things and waited a while before finding out he would not be returning to the property. A lady named Deidre could explain to us (via WhatsApp/phone) how to enter the property and find firewood for example. But it felt like we were bothering her so left it at that (entering and firewood). Towards the end of our stay, we saw Martin’s number and the WiFi password scribbled in a guest book. This should be more prominently placed as we could’ve used the info sooner. The “kitchen” is extremely small, cramped, awkward. The floor in the one bathroom gets drenched after a shower - uncomfortable. A small TV in the main room would’ve been nice. The fan (in the main room least), with the lights on was very disorientating as the fan blades would block the light with every passing of the blade. A full length mirror against one of the walls would be great. I’m not sure a full big fridge is necessary in the tiny space, unless a smaller fridge wouldn’t provide for much more kitchen/living space. We didn’t expect a tiny portable braai/barbeque facility but it got the job done, not to our satisfaction though. Would’ve wanted to see much more of Martin - had high expectations after reading others’ reviews.
