Maison des Amis Porto

My wife and I stayed in the beautiful Maison des Amis Porto in late May. The Garden Apartment and house are beautiful, cool, clean and comfortable. The location is excellent within 10min walk of the city centre. Our hosts were most kind, welcoming and looked after us very well.

Our stay in Maison des Amis was too short only 3 nights and we are keen to return soon. Porto is wonderful.

We cannot rate Maison des Amis highly enough. Nelson communicated with us ahead of our arrival and was waiting for us when arrived. We were given a warm welcome and lots of helpful information about the property and the area. The guest house is stylish and beautiful. Nice central location but calm and peaceful. We appreciated the extra touches like fruit and coffee available, and even the first aid kit (very handy to have plasters for the inevitable blisters after long walks!). We look forward to returning.

Cannot find anything negative to say!

The beautiful interior and well preserved historic house was well presented, exceptionally clean and comfortable. Nelson and his wife were lovely people who made our stay even more memorable. The property is perfectly situated as to be quiet yet close to the town. The vibrant Cordoaria area of the city was very close to the apartment and convenient for breakfast and late night drinks after a walk back from the centre.

Just one or two essentials in the fridge would of helped a late arrival, but this was rectified the next morning.

Everything! Nelson was thoughtful and accommodating and willing to share local information freely. He made sure all the details were attended to and made everyone feel welcome.

Nothing - my legs didn't like the hills but that's just Porto 😄

Prachtig herenhuis met behoud van authentieke elementen. Prachtige en grote kamers; je waant je in een paleis. Alles is zeer goed verzorgd en je mag gebruik maken van de keuken, eet- en zitkamer. Ook fijn tuintje erbij. Gastheer en gastvrouw zijn zeer hartelijke en innemende mensen. Ze hebben ons verblijf zeer goed verzorgd en niets was teveel. Een absolute aanrader. Nogmaals dank; jullie hebben ons verblijf in Porto een upgrade gegeven!

We had a fabulous stay at Maison des Amis . The location is perfect and the room and other facilities excellent ! Nelson was very welcoming and helpful . We enjoyed using the garden as a calm place for our breakfast and after busy days sightseeing . We would highly recommend Maison des Amis for your stay in Porto.

Nelson, the owner was lovely, the property was beyond exceptions. We were quite fortunate to have the whole house as no else was booked in .....

Grosses schönes Zimmer mit 2 Badezimmern. Sehr netter Vermieter, der uns viele Tipps gab. Lage optimal, mitten im Geschehen, dennoch sehr ruhig.

Vielleicht, dass wir uns aufgrund der Beschreibung auf ein Apartment eingestellt hatten. Selber kochen war aber für einmal kein Thema bei dem kulinarischen Angebot in Porto.

Our rooms were beautiful - just as in the photos - lovely polished wood flooring and filled with antiques, yet modern bathrooms. Nelson met us at the house and welcomed us and was very helpful. I loved my room in the front as when I opened the window I could hear the occasional tram go past (every half hour) and the squawk of seagulls. I love trams and love being near the sea so couldn't be better. With the windows closed I could hardly hear a thing. We had the whole house to ourselves and could have made food, but we didn't bother - just used the kettle and coffee machine downstairs and it was good to each have a kettle in our own rooms for early morning tea in bed. There was fresh milk in the fridge. It was a very nice experience and I would recommend the house to friends and will stay again when next visiting Porto, which I hope is very soon.

Maybe just a tad closer to the city centre.
