Kyo no Ondokoro TAKEYAMACHI #8

As a tall westerner I appreciated: western beds, dining table and chairs, comfortable armchairs Generally we loved: the kitchen with space and more than the bare minimum microwave; the wonderful wooden tub and wet room; the refined design and cosy bedroom looking onto courtyard; location - quiet and next to wonderful cafe, a few minutes from Fresco supermarket etc; comprehensive materials provided with information on the area. Question for Owner: which company sells or installed the wooden tub?

I guess being able to check in at property would be an improvement. Lack of TV - not an issue at all for us.

Clean and spacious property in quiet residential neighborhood. Beautiful and modern. 10 minute walk to Nijo Castle and right next door to an amazing bakery cafe. Perfect for a family of 4. Property offers everything you need. Would book again without hesitation.

Would be nice to have someone clean the rooms every 2 days instead of every 3 days. We were there for 4 nights. Would have been nice to have the rooms refreshed and towels changed mid-way through our stay. Also, perhaps replenish fridge with water bottles.

Very clean, nicely arranged house, really like the setting and the garden jn front of the bedroom. Fully equipped kitchen and plenty of dining room. Good location as well.

Check-in is in a different place than the location itself and there is no shuttle to take us there but it is too close to take a taxi. They said it was 8 minutes walking, but in fact it was 15. We had heavy luggage and it was 35 degrees. When we arrived at the house we were all sweating and looking forward to the AC. But, surprise, the AC was turned off and in the house it was even hotter than outside. It took at least 2 hours for the house to get to a comfortable temperature.

Beautiful guesthouse, well equipped, very functional, great neighborhood.

The pick up location was over 1km from the property, which therefore necessitated an extra taxi ride in light of luggage.

Great Machiya (renovated wooden townhome)! Super modern and aesthetic. Fully stocked kitchen (buy your own seasonings). Japanese style baths and floor heaters. Washer/Dryer in unit, as well as fancy bidets. Plus, there's a bakery right next door! Overall insane value for money!

Some parts of the house can get cold. Location, while still decent, is still under 10min walk away from nearest station. Might prefer taxing for luggage. Check-in had to require all guests with passports at a different hotel one station away.

The cypress bath tub facing the courtyard was great. We also enjoyed the decor and the heated floor. The bakery next door was fabulous.

A very roomy authentic airbnb with characteristic details. A very quiet nice neighborhood.

Everything was very nice. Only minus is that you have to check in 15 mins away from the airbnb at another hotel.
