Infante Guesthouse

Location: The location is great! Keep in mind if you are a sensitive sleeper, Lagos might not be the best place to be staying at. There is a lot going on and the windows in case of Infante Guesthouse are not noise canceling and therefore you might not sleep as soundly as you would like. Cleanliness: Marek and Isabell love this property, and they are excellent hosts, they make sure that guests are comfortable and always have a clean and neat environment. Beaches: The nearest beach is about 5 minutes away, walking distance. The Beach you see from the rooftop is about a 30 to 40 minute walk. Rooftop: This is a selling point from the property! We were able to take our small breaks from the day here and really enjoyed drinking an expresso in the morning with a beautiful view. Make sure to consider this when booking!

Noise: Lagos is noisy and the windows are not noise canceling, plus we really enjoy having fresh air at nights, so if you want to get some fresh air, consider there is a lot of movement in this area and that might constraint you from having a good night sleep.

We loved staying here the roof terrace was perfect, fantastic views, everything was there to be able to cook a meal or just enjoy a drink and look out at the amazing views. Plenty of space if other residents came up too. The owners extremely helpful and informative, we got lots of suggestions for places to go and restaurants to visit which we did and were lovely.

I would ask for a different room as ours overlooked a busy street which seemed to be the main thoroughfare during the early hours, also above the entrance to a busy restaurant which opened very late. The windows were very good at keeping the noise out but if you are a light sleeper it could disturb you. However this would not deter me in revisiting this lovely accommodation.

A Gem of a Guesthouse My husband and I immensely enjoyed our 3-night stay at this gem of a guesthouse. The hosts, Marek and his lovely wife Isabel, were warm and welcoming. They are meticulous and pay great attention to detail. They even helped eliminate the hassle of figuring out where to dine and also provided useful tips for sightseeing, etc. While this guesthouse did not have all the amenities as the posh hotel in Lisbon where we later stayed, it surpassed our expectations and we ultimately ended up preferring our laidback stay in Lagos, especially due to the charming guesthouse and hosts. The views from the rooftop terrace were breathtaking! Marek and Isabelle made our stay so enjoyable and we cannot wait to return!

Marek was full of useful information and his wife was very nice. I was commenting to another couple about how great his information was when they commented that they thought he was a bit arrogant. I have always said it's a fine line between pride and arrogance and it appears at least he may have crossed it in their view. The location was perfect being just off the Town square with a rooftop balcony that gives you an amazing view. Being at the southern end of town it is a bit easier to walk to the magnificent cliffs to the south. I stayed here for four nights and found Lagos to be a great town. From here I did the seven hanging valley's hike as well as the coastal walk from l u z. I had the small single room which did have a view out to the beach.

The small single room that I had we'll have its windows and the shower fixed in the next year per Marek. He will be replacing the window with soundproofed ones and the shower curtain with a real surround. Per Marek the noise can be a real issue especially around Christmas and then in season. It was even bad in March where people were loud on the square until 6:00 a.m. . I was able to drown out the noise by in closing the window and keeping the air conditioning fan on.

A great place to stay in Lagos. The owner was a great guy, very helpful with restaurant recommendations, etc. There were many conveniences, like a communal kitchen to store your food. The location could not be better, right in the center of things with an easy parking garage very close by.
