Hotel Rhein-Ahr

Breakfast was very good, German-style. The people were friendly and helpful. It is an old building, so one must adjust expectations a little, but if you are not comparing it to a new Hilton, it is a very fine facility.

My only problem, and the reason I will not go back again, is that I went as a delegate to a UN conference. To get to Remagen is not far-- only a very slight distance farther than places I have stayed on the other side of the Rhein. But the trolley runs to those places, and a true train is required to get to Remagen. Miss a train by a minute, you have a long wait for another. When you get to Remagen, it is a significant ride on a bus to get to the Hotel. The problem is, the jurisdiction that runs the bus service did not have them running on the posted schedule. This caused me hours lost and two twenty Euro taxi rides. If one is doing time-senstive work in Bonn, be sure you are prepared to dedicate patience and other resources to getting to and from Remagen.

Zurückhaltendes, sehr freundliches Personal, gemütliches Zimmer, gute Lage zum RheinAhrCampus/Rhein, leckeres Abendessen, alles sehr sauber.

Das Zimmer zur Straße war etwas laut, mehr frisches Obst beim Frühstück wäre schön gewesen.
