Maha Hills Resort by Mahaprana Experience

Staff are amazing, especially many thanks to Catur who helped us with multiple things like giving valuable recommendations, driving us to the Aling-Aling waterfalls and accompanying us to our next step with the hotel’s transportation that we selected. The hotel is located at a good stop for views and being really in nature. It is true that daily transportation is not the easiest due to being on a hill with a very narrow climbing road but the hotel tries their best to fit to your needs by offering their transportation service that I think also not extreme prices. As a note, going to Singaraja from souther parts of the island costs both mentally and physically, but if you go it has really valuable destinations for a 2 day around I would say. We had around 10 days on the island and selected it for 2 days and don’t regret it. Lastly, hotel’s restaurant is amazing with many selections.

The physical conditions in this hotel were nowhere near a 4-star one. Our towels were torn apart in multiple points due to being old actually. Besides, there was like a warning in the bathroom that if we stain white towels there would be an extra charge at check-out. For that reason they also put black towels for cleaning makeup etc. I mean.. this is a 4-star hotel and you charge for towels while your towels are already torn apart? This is for me an irony. Besides, at check-out they really enter into your room to check if everything is okay.. this feels weird. The hotel is surrounded by a really dense forest, and there is a higher presence of lizards. I can’t blame the hotel for this, but our balcony door was not fully closing and even if we locked down that door, from middle section a bee entered in the evening and went by also the curtains and we had to cope with it. Later the following day we squeezed paper towels in all the openings and still, the following day we woke up and a cockroach was on the ground, luckily dead. The rooms are not fully enclosed and if you’re really fearing these insects, maybe look for other options. Overall the doors furniture and other stuff in the room was old. To hotel management: it is easy to hide behind the nature concept, but truly you must consider a renovation. Overall, I would really give a 5 out of 10 to this hotel if it were not for the people it has.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wir haben drei wundervolle Nächte im Maha Hills Resort verbracht und jede Minute genossen. Unsere Royal Pool Villa war traumhaft – großzügig, sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und mit einem privaten Pool, den wir täglich genutzt haben. Die gesamte Anlage ist wunderschön inmitten von Reisfeldern gelegen und strahlt eine besondere Ruhe aus. Ein absolutes Highlight war die herzliche Gastfreundschaft des Teams. Wir wurden eingeladen, an einer traditionellen Galungan-Zeremonie teilzunehmen. Dafür erhielten wir sogar traditionelle balinesische Kleidung, was diese Erfahrung für uns noch besonderer gemacht hat. Es war ein sehr persönlicher Moment, der uns einen authentischen Einblick in die balinesische Kultur ermöglicht hat. Auch die morgendliche Meditation haben wir sehr genossen. Sie war der perfekte Start in den Tag und passte wunderbar zur friedlichen Atmosphäre des Resorts. Besonders in Erinnerung bleibt uns außerdem die wunderbare Massage im Resort. Die Anwendung war professionell, entspannend und rundete unseren Aufenthalt perfekt ab. Das gesamte Team war außergewöhnlich freundlich, aufmerksam und herzlich. Wir haben uns vom ersten Moment an willkommen gefühlt. Vielen Dank für diesen unvergesslichen Aufenthalt. Wenn wir wieder nach Bali kommen, würden wir sofort wieder hier buchen.

We had an amazing stay at Maha Hills Resort Lovina. The location is perfect if you're looking for a peaceful and relaxing retreat surrounded by lush greenery. Nestled in the middle of the jungle, the resort offers stunning views, complete tranquility, and a welcome escape from the crowds and noise. Although there are no restaurants nearby, the resort's restaurant is excellent, offering delicious food and breathtaking scenery. The cottages are located next to a river, which creates a very relaxing atmosphere, especially if you enjoy the sounds of nature. The room was very clean, comfortable, and well equipped with everything we needed, including towels, toiletries, and a hair dryer. Housekeeping was done twice a day, and the staff paid great attention to every detail. The furniture was modern and new, the bed was very comfortable, and the pool was clean and well maintained. The breakfast was delicious, with a good variety of options. On one occasion, we had to leave at 5:00 AM, and the staff kindly prepared takeaway breakfast boxes with sandwiches for us, which we collected from the reception that morning. The reception is open 24/7, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We were welcomed with a beautiful traditional ritual upon arrival, which made our experience even more special and memorable.

First of all, the location is perfect if you’re looking for a peaceful place with a view you normally only can dream about. The people who are working there make you feel like home and do everything what they can to make hour stay the best you could wish for. No request is to much and always done fast and with a smile on their face! I’m sure i’ll be coming hete again!

Wir haben uns aufgrund der Beschreibung und der Selbstdarstellung als „Luxury Resort“ für das Maha Hills Resort entschieden und hatten entsprechend hohe Erwartungen. Leider wurden diese in vielen Bereichen nicht erfüllt. Positiv hervorheben möchten wir die Lage des Hotels. Es liegt etwas außerhalb von Lovina, eingebettet in wunderschöne Reisterrassen und mit einer sehr schönen Aussicht. Auch das Personal war während unseres Aufenthalts stets freundlich und bemüht. Leider überwogen für uns jedoch die negativen Eindrücke. In weiten Teilen der Anlage lag ein abgestandener, muffiger Geruch in der Luft – besonders auffällig vor dem Restaurant und vor allem im Badezimmer unseres Zimmers. Der Mückenschutz über dem Bett war für die Größe des Bettes deutlich zu klein und zudem verschmutzt sowie fleckig. Die Türen schlossen nicht richtig, sodass stets Spalte offen blieben. Auch der allgemeine Zustand der Anlage entsprach für uns nicht dem Standard eines Fünf-Sterne-Hotels. Einige Dächer waren mit Planen abgedeckt, Geländer wirkten marode oder wackelig und an mehreren Stellen waren Arbeiten nur mangelhaft ausgeführt, was insgesamt einen eher günstigen Eindruck hinterließ. Hinzu kamen zahlreiche nasse Stellen durch überlaufendes Poolwasser. Die Umgebung ist zudem recht laut. Ohrstöpsel wurden nicht bereitgestellt, obwohl diese aus unserer Sicht sinnvoll gewesen wären. Der Lüfter im Zimmer war ebenfalls sehr laut. Der Poolbereich konnte uns ebenfalls nicht überzeugen. Der Pool befindet sich direkt am Restaurant und bietet kaum Möglichkeiten zum entspannten Verweilen. Es gab nur wenige Sonnenliegen, viele davon mit alten Polstern und ohne ausreichenden Sonnenschutz. Auch das obere Deck wirkte wenig einladend: alte Polster, teilweise unvollständig ausgestattet, keine Sonnenschirme und erneut der unangenehme Geruch. Der Pool selbst machte ebenfalls keinen besonders gepflegten Eindruck. Zudem war der Barbereich unterhalb des Hotels während unseres Aufenthalts geschlossen.
