Ferienwohnungen Kachel

Ingrid and Helmut welcomed us with a cup of tea and Ingrid shared her local knowledge with us to help us plan our stay (excellent English). We were delighted with the scenic views, beautiful gardens and quaint architecture of Bacharach. So glad we chose to stay here! Our apartment at Ferienwohnungen Kachel had all we needed! Ingrid drove us to the station, which was much appreciated. A great start to our experiences of Germany. Thank you again, Ingrid and Helmut!

Hosts are very nice. Every morning we have cooked breakfast as well as fruit and cold meat and cheese. We almost missed the Rhine river cruise because of the flood. But Katchel phoned the local company and got us on the first cruise. And very reasonable price. We really enjoyed the cruise and grateful for her efforts.

Nothing

The apartment was located in a beautiful peaceful setting. Splendid walks were available in all directions, in addition to great road-biking circuits, with wonderful views over the hilly countryside, the numerous vineyards, historic buildings and castles, and the Rhein. It was clearly advantageous to be in this part of Bacharach, than in the main part of the village, where all the tourists circulate.

Very friendly hosts who provided us with lots of information and gave us a warm welcome. Room and bathroom were spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed relaxing in the garden with a glass of very good wine. Breakfast was ample and good with home made jams and freshly cooked eggs. The accommodation is a pleasant 20 minutes walk from the centre of town where there are lots of restaurants and cafes.

WIFI signal was quite weak.

The host and hostess were very friendly and informative. I was picked up from the station and given a guided tour of the town and surroundings. I was dropped back at the station when I left.

Loved everything! The apartment is very comfortable, fully equipped and quiet. Really nice stroll to the town centre, along the vineyards and medieval buildings . Amazing hosts, Ingrid and Helmut, warmly welcomed us with tea and lots of info and useful tips. They even surprised us with eggs and chocolates for Easter!

Can't fault a thing!

Ingrid met us at the train station. She gave us a great introduction with coffee and tea. She was very accommodating and such a wonderful host. I would recommend the location for many of the hikes in Steeg as well as accessibility to Rhein activities.

Internet was a bit spotty. In order to get wifi you had to be closer to the bedrooms on the top floor and then you would be able to access it by the kitchen area.

Size, comfort, decor, amenities of the room, quiet, wonderful hosts, delicious breakfast, helpful tourism information, I've been traveling for decades and this is one of my favorites. The location is about a 20 minute walk from downtown Bacharach, host can pick you up at station, otherwise it is pleasant to walk thru the area.

Thank you Ingrid and Helmut for welcoming me into your wonderful B&B. Your service was nothing but excellent by picking me up from the station, giving me a tour of Bacharach and trying to look for me in town to inform me that I left my phone on the breakfast table. Not finding my phone in my pockets while I'm out sightseeing was scary, but what was more scary was finding out during check-out breakfast that the 8am local train to Mainz was cancelled. Thank goodness I double-checked my train on DB app and thank you Ingrid for your suggestion to take my IC train in Koblenz, and I made it to my next destination as planned. Your B&B deserves to be a holiday home with flair as advertised on your brochure.

Sad to hear that this will be your last year running your B&B. However, I wish you both a happy retirement and I hope that you get a new buyer who will run the B&B as well as you do.
