Janus Paradise Rest

Beach front property. Very friendly staff. A good variety of food on the memu

Unfortunately as with many beaches apart from directly out front of the property the beach was strewn with rubbish and a significant amount of plastic bottles. Considering how hot SriLanka can be, a fridge in our room would have been a good addition

This is a small family run hotel with direct access to the beach. Stunning views; you can watch the sea while having breakfast, and the sunsets are glorious. Staff were friendly but inobtrusive. They were helpful when we made requests. Breakfast is worth including: eggs, how you want them, fruit, toast, and coffee/tea. We stayed in the superior sea view room (we were in the middle one!). Large, clean room, shower room (modern), and a large balcony with seats, table, and towel/drying rail. Room cleaned, towels changed every two days. There is a small fridge. We were just here to rest after spending 15 days travelling in Sri Lanka, so the setup suited us really well. The Janus is about 4km from Bentota where you can find supermarket, atm etc. Tuktuks easy to hail from the road, cost around LKR 700 to Food City in off-season. The train line is very close, which is convenient for getting here, but also you can hear the trains - i have to say this was not a problem for us.

The staff how friendly and accommodating.

Das Personal war super lieb und hilfsbereit. Das Essen und Frühstück war auch toll. Wir sind einen Tag früher abgereist und uns wurde der Tag erlassen. Die Lage am Strand war schön, jedoch etwas außerhalb.

Das Familienzimmer war muffig und in die Jahre gekommen. Der Pool war ok, bis auf das überall Hundehaare am Abfluss hingen, da der Besitzer zwei Hunde hat, die zwar lieb und süß waren, aber überall in den Garten gepisst und gekackt haben… wir mögen Hunde, aber das war was fies.

Pool, friendly staff, good breakfast, good cup of tea, 2 gorgeous dogs and beach front

No where to lay around the pool, small room right at the top of the building, not very close to anything
