Crescent Apartments

Location was easy to get to, the apartment was great. Comfortable bed, and great living area.

Electric Door lock was a little difficult to operate at first

This was an excellently decorated & comfortably furnished apartment, perfectly located in a quiet location in the main part of town. We parked a short distance away at the ASDA car park, which was reasonably priced via the JustPark app. Helpful owners & excellent communication. We didn’t use the cooking equipment as the apartment was close to a number of chain restaurants - we did notice that there was no sharp knife nor microwave but otherwise was very well equipped. The only reasons we didn’t give 5 stars is that the first floor flat was at the top of a very steep flight of stairs & the bed location in an alcove was not the easiest to get in & out of.

Everything was perfect nearly and the bed was probably the most comfortable I've ever slept in

The only criticism I have is that there wasn't enough tea coffee milk and sugar left for us unfortunately not enough milk for even one cup of coffee apart from that it was a lovely stay

In terms of fixtures and fittings it is tastefully decorated. However those are superficial aspects, which are tantamount to pointless, if the essential facilities are inoperative. The location is central with easy access to Newport train station. The road seems somewhat ghetto with overflowing bins emitting putrid smell. .

Prior to arrival the owners demanded photos of my credit card and passport with threats to cancel the booking if they were not supplied. I strongly advise you use booking.com for all communications and not their own messaging service, unless you want to get duped. The property was dirty upon arrival, I'm quite certain that they do not give the property a deep clean between guests. The images below show exactly how the flat was when I arrived. The cleaner did turn up flustered and we left to go to a restaurant while they cleaned it. The worst aspect was that the flat has damp and freezing cold. The central heating did not work and they didn't fix it. I found the owners to be pompous and superficial in their claims for customer service.

It's not often that I have stayed at a property that has lived up to it's billing, been just as seen in the pictures and exactly as it has been described, it could be said that it even surpassed some my expectations. The location of the apartment is excellent, there is a nearby secure car park a supermarket, and it's very close to the town centre and the riverside. Cleanliness was very good and the facilities were well thought out and just what i needed.

The 2 flats above are pretty evidently occupied, lots of stair and movement noise from some apparently heavy-duty footwear.
