Stephels Hostel

I regret to share that my experience at Stephels Hostel Jaipur was unsettling due to the inappropriate behavior of the owner. As a solo traveler from Europe, I found his actions completely unacceptable and invasive of personal boundaries. On the afternoon of my arrival, the owner touched my leg without consent, and I clearly told him not to do so. Despite this clear boundary, he continued to behave in an uncomfortable manner. Later that evening, when I was near the reception, he stood very close to me, asking me questions despite my expressed disinterest and request to be left alone. The following morning, while waiting for my taxi near the reception, he forcibly grabbed and squeezed my arm, asking if I was strong, not letting go of my hand. I explicitly told him not to touch me, as he continually tried again and again. This pattern of behavior made me feel unsafe and disrespected throughout my stay. Unfortunately, having already paid for three nights, I was unable to change accommodations, but I strongly advise others, both international and Indian travelers, to exercise caution when considering this hostel. Safety and respect are paramount when choosing lodging, and Stephels Hostel failed to provide either due to the owner’s disregard for personal boundaries. Adding to these behaviours. I was charged extra money when I arrived. The room was satisfactory for the amount of money I paid as it is one of the cheapest options I found in Jaipur. No nets on the windows which was little bit annoying because of mosquitoes. There is a ceiling fan. One reception guy was nice and helpful. The garden is nice and the property itself is big and spacious.
