Air con not working that well

屋上からの景色は何物にもかえがたい。 宿のネガティブなところが帳消しになるくらいの良さがある。 老街の中にあってコンビニにも近い。

セルフチェックインでLINEを使わないといけなかったけれど、もらったらIDで検索できず、当日宿の外に掲示されていたQRコードでようやく検索ができた。 その後LINEで電話を何度か行ったが、15分くらい応答がなく宿にも入れずすごく不安になった。 部屋の換気が良くないので、雨が降った日や気温の高い日はつらそう。

The location in Jiufen is very good! It is directly next to the Old Street of Jiufen, right in the middle of it. So you‘re pretty much everywhere in a couple of minutes.

Actually there are some points. First of all during my stay (one night) i didn‘t see anyone from the staff there. I got texted the code to enter the hostel and later when i was inside he phoned me to tell me where everything is. It was an uncommon way but okay. Next thing: i was told to put the exact amount of money for paying the hostel in a jar on the counter since there was no one from the staff who i could give the money to. But since i didn‘t have the exact amount i needed to got outside and ask in some cafe for small coins. I found all of that very annoying and inconvenient! But the most annoying thing was that they had no functioning AC. It was raining a lot during my stay. Eventually my clothes and shoes got wet (a lot). I tried to dry them but with only a ventilator it didn‘t really work. When i asked the staff via whatsapp if there is an AC or if they could please turn it on for me to dry my stuff (i wasn‘t the only one with wet clothes) i didn‘t get a reply!!! He saw my texts but left me on read. Very bad service if you ask me. I had to leave with damp clothes and still soaking shoes. Thanks for nothing!

Good location on the old street; very good shower pressure; good-quality cold water machines (one in kitchen, one in bedroom); functioning bed space lights and plugs

There is mould on the curtains and on the walls in the bed space and the overall the hostel is dirty and cluttered. The room gets incredibly hot and humid at night, as there is a tiny dehumidifier that doesn’t do much at all - really an industrial-type one is required.
