"Bla/ nah won’t stay again."

3.0

The location was nice and the coffee bean trailer down the street was nice.

Uncomfortable, couldn’t see very well in the mirror with such a dark room, floor left our bare feet black so it hadn’t been mopped recently, parking was always a problem. Very loud upstairs all night. Very cramped. Uncomfortable bed and pillows were hard.

"At your own risk"

1.0

I booked this place after a bad experience at another hotel and hoped for better, but the staff was condescending from the start and offered no reassurance. I still gave it a chance as I was stranded and booked three nights. Upon arrival, the room smelled funky, the bathroom was dirty with poor lighting, a broken, rusty and moldy showerhead, and stagnant water backing up into the tub every time I turned on the shower—it barely drained. When I politely asked for their help, their exact response was: *“So what do you want to do? Check out and go somewhere else?”* I felt unsafe, especially since the terrace opened to an isolated area under a cliff not disclosed in the Booking listing with the door easily accessible. Thankfully, Booking reviewed my evidence and issued a refund for the two unused nights. However, the hotel (actually a motel) refused to refund the first night and charged me Fees, which I’m currently disputing. Bottom line: avoid this place. It’s not worth the risk.

"The price was right, but the lack of parking and the noisy environment made the stay challenging."

6.0

The room was clean.

It was very noisy. It was hard to sleep a few nights. There needed to be more hands towels. It would have been nice to have enough coffee for our stay. Parking was also hard to find.

"Staying at Solis Place"

9.0

The room itself was nice and clean. Location is excellent. It was an easy walk to Old Town. Only a few minutes drive to down town San Diego.

I don't particularly like the parking situation. It would be nice if guests stay for more than 3 days there's one day free parking on the reserved parking area or at least be given some sort of discount for parking inconvenience.

"Good overall, but some improvements would make it better."

8.0

Location was good. The room itself, though spare and compact, was comfortable and clean. The kitchen also was small, but adequately supplied and serviceable. The bed was comfortable enough. (I was surprised there was no preventive undersheet on the mattress as you find in other hotels, etc., but - **NB - there were absolutely no traces whatsoever of bedbugs or any other bugs in the room.**) Plenty of hot water in the shower. The place is close to I-5 but the noise from that and San Diego Avenue are nicely kept to a minimum by a good stout window and door. Much appreciated at night in a lively, sometimes very noisy area! The management was very welcoming and easy to get along with. I liked the "hands off" nature of check in and check out.

I loved the place at first, but then discovered some inconvenient quirks which made me like it more than love it. Indeed, a few changes would make staying here much better. The lighting in the room is not good and could use serious upgrading. The bathroom is especially inadequately lit. The faucets for the vanity sink and the shower blast water like the kitchen sink hose feature for cleaning dishes. I felt like I was being sand-blasted in the shower: there was no adjustment possible. These really need changing to gentler fixtures. The air conditioner is old and loud and needs upgrading: it's especially loud when it goes into actual cooling, stops and then starts again. Could keep you up all night, actually. Pillows could also use an upgrade. (The bed needs more leeway on the side nearest the lamp and nightstand.)

The bedroom shades were amazing. I typically wake up one the light starts peeping through but these were great. I also liked the full refrigerator

The location was alright but there wasn’t any parking including. I had to park in the street which was a bit scary. It wasn’t a huge deal breaker but the cabinets were broken so it created doubts that utensils weren’t cleaned between visitors.
