The staff is very helpful and friendly, as a lone female traveller I felt completely safe. Location is great, within walking distance from everything.

It might be a little hard to find as there is no English sign outside or in the hallway Luckily locals were able to help. The hotel is located on the highest floor but there is an elevator.

I enjoyed my stay at Transit Alexandria Hostel. The building is old and it shows, but everything was clean and the staff were friendly. The location is good.

Everything was excellent. The room was spacious, clean, and pleasantly scented, with large windows that made it feel bright and airy. There was also a table and chairs, which made it comfortable to sit and relax. The beds were very comfortable. We appreciated the small kitchenette, where it was possible to make coffee or tea, and there was also a fridge and even the option to heat up food if needed. The room temperature was very comfortable and cool. For just 100 EGP, you can order delicious breakfast, which is definitely worth it. We would also like to express our gratitude to the friendly and smiling receptionist, who kindly helped us understand Alexandria’s public transport system, making it easy and affordable for us to explore the city. The location is fantastic – right next to a modern pedestrian street as well as the Mediterranean promenade, and a local market is also just a short walk away.

The only downside was some minor plumbing issues in the bathroom, but this is quite typical for hostels in Egypt, so it wasn’t really a surprise. There was hot water and it was perfectly possible to take a shower, which is ultimately what matters most. It might also be helpful to add clearer signage at the entrance of the building. Otherwise, you have to ask the man at the entrance to confirm you’re in the right place, and he isn’t always there.
