Hacienda Maria Elena

The location was good as it is close to town, but not right in the middle of it, so it was generally quiet. After reading reviews, we chose a king room so we could have a balcony/window that opened. The pool area is small, but nice with a well-kept garden area. The property has a lot of potential with some work.

For what you get, $100 a night seemed steep to us. The rooms were very basic and dark, if you need it, the wifi doesn't reach some rooms, and the staff have an apathetic and complacent attitude. The night receptionist was very unprofessional when handling noise complaints and Sunday night he was out in the courtyard with other staff and people that weren't staying in the hotel, literally yelling when they started up their four-wheelers to leave at 1am.

Hacienda Maria Elena was super easy to find that the location is EXCELLENT. It's 1 block from the main street with all of the shops and restaurants plus an easy walk to hike up to the ruin. The parking on-site was also nice.

Everything was great! Maybe having a 3rd bath towel would have been nice but it wasn't a big deal.
