The traditional experience

Beautiful rooms, lovely garden.

The wifi wasn't working, the kitchen facilities were lacking and the only heating option was a wood burner that filled the room with smoke anytime we needed to attend to it. The worst part was the ad-hoc garbage dump at the back of the garden where everyone, including our host, seem to throw away their garbage. It was shocking to see.

The location is very beautiful and quiet. Is a small village somewhere quite isolated but if you get everything you need from the store on the way you will be ok. We traveled with a 2 years old child that was very happy to play with the cats in the garden and the slide in the back yard. The house was very clean and spacious for all of us (5 adults and 1 child). The host was very friendly and helpfull.

The one thing i did not like were the mattresses which i suggest to be changed. At the bigger one you could feel the springs in your back and we couldn't rest very well and neither the child (because she was sleeping with us in the big bed). Also there were tons of flyes and we had to chatch them every night before bed so they won't wake us up in the middle of the night but that is a village thing that you cannot quite control.

There are no 0 stars, one will do. I also don't enjoy giving bad reviews because i mostly had none.., so far. I arrived at the location, being greeted by the strangest of people, showing me the yard and the room. The place looked nice although muddy in the yard after a recent rain. The individual said that there was no heating (being a colder september day in the hills) and talked to his so called wife (the manager according to him) and that they will provide heating. My wife checked the room and noticed the back door was not closing properly. That and having a young toddler made us change our mind, and also the strange individual that was staring and having communication difficulties which i asked about four times if he is confused, he looked like it. We called the manager on booking and asked for a full refund (no cancelation policy). she agreed and then i used the option on Booking to cancel my reservation with a full refund (if the proprietor agrees according to our phone conversation). We then left and found an okay property, about 30 km away with another host on Booking. After i arrived and some time passed on the same day i received an email that they didn't accept, so i was getting billed for the whole trip (2 days). I then called the proprietor and she said that she talked to her husband (?), and that they changed their mind (?). She also said that she offered us another room, a better room (which had a double price) for free, which was just another lie, she did not mention that in my initial call. Anywho, there was no negotiation, my wife said some nice things to her, by heart and so, she told her that that individual was not working for them (?) so i reported on Booking and got one day money back (being the first afternoon of the two day reservation with no stay). Well, at least i got half and Booking did something about it, so thanks to them.
