The surroundings

Hotel nightmare is what it should be called. Firstly we arrived 20 minutes early and had to hang around with our bags. Fair enough we were early but all the hotels I’ve stayed in are gracious enough to let us check in if the room is ready (which this one was). That was after being booked into an inferior room so on checking it out they realised their mistake. The room was OK except the air-con was set too hot for me and couldn’t lower the temperature. The most horrendous experience we had was because of a 50th birthday party being held around reception directly under us. The volume level of the music was so high, it felt like the walls and floor were thumping and bouncing! We assumed things would quieten down after midnight but no, it carried on. Around 00:30 my husband went down to ask they turn it down. The DJ said OK but didn’t. Fast forward to 03:30 and I was almost in tears with tiredness so I got dressed and went down again. Again I got an “OK, OK” with a dirty look. We were made to feel very unwelcome and a nuisance for staying there. This argument went on until past 4am . In the end I think I got about an hour’s stressful sleep. In the morning on checking out we explained about what had happened. Got no apology or understanding but we at least didn’t have to pay and that was only after a series of phone calls made by the miserable receptionist. The first place I went to when we left was a pharmacy for painkillers. I’d never had such a thumping headache in my life. Went straight to bed when I got home. In all my years of dealing with Booking.com I’ve never had such an horrendous experience.

The hotel is outside of the town, in a peaceful forest. We woke up with birds singing outside. There were single use slippers in the room which doesn't happen so often in other hotels. Plenty of towels! The breakfast was fine. It seems a nice place for a coffee outside, too.

The room was small. Everything else was perfect.

Great location of the hotel, surrounded by lots of green and nearby the aquapark. The room was very spacious and well decorated. The staff was helpful, also with accommodating our drinks in the bar fridge.
