Room was very comfortable & warm. there was ample parking for a car or small van.

Restaurant was busy as it had Christmas parties however the menu was not for us as my partner is a chef.

Helpful and prompt replies to enquiries before we arrived. Welcoming staff on arrival. Historic and characterful building. Comfortable, quiet, warm and clean room. Large comfortable bed. Perfect bath, (rarely my experience). Large mugs for coffee/tea. Bottled water. Excellent breakfast, freshly prepared. More welcoming staff. Great location just off the A1.

Car park spaces are limited, but there is another car park 100m approx down the road which would have been good to know in advance.
