Shower and en suite a bit tight, head marks on wall above bed, some staff (male kitchen & bar), avoided eye contact and didn’t appear welcoming. Not openly rude but hotel would benefit from more smiles and hello’s etc

Very long wait for dinner. We ordered our food at 7.15 but weren’t served until 8.30 by which time it was too late. No hairdryer in room

Nice village to explore

Small poky room, noisy inside the hotel n outside. Creaky floors. Kettle had no proper place to be plugged in was awkward n inconvenient.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel location was good and the rooms were very clean. The breakfasts were good. The shower was good as were the fluffy white towels.

The rooms were 'tired' and need some TLC. there was a lack of places to put toiletries in the bathroom, the toiletries provided were disappointing. The bed was very poor with a very soft mattress that sank in the middle. I had very little sleep. The dinners were poor and in some cases incorrect. The cod & chips were extremely poor with very hard batter and almost inedible fish which was either not cod or had been overcooked. A starter of soup was accompanied by a thin slice of white, sliced bread.

Staff very attentive especially the lady serving the morning breakfasts. Very dog friendly

Always a warm welcome. Comfortable and clean.

The restaurant and bar were lovely, the food was exceptional and finding out they have their own farm for the food produced made it even better. I had some dietary requirements and this was all catered for very well. Staff were friendly and v helpful, we felt they went out of their way to help us. The room was a good size, bed was comfortable and tea, coffee and biscuits all great.

The shower was huge with a drench and other seperate shower head. There are 3 knobs to control the shower but none are labelled so by the time we figured out what did what the shower was very hot and v slow to respond to trying to cool it down and not knowing which way it needed turning...... 10mins later I managed to find a happy temperature. Please label the controllers and which way is hot and cold. Also, great shower in theory being open with no door but the drench shower sprays out onto the floor quite a lot and the shower itself needs some maintenance on it. Overall great but for this, easy to fix, bit.

Friendly and welcoming, in a beautiful little village. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced with lots of local produce on offer. The games section of the pub was brilliant for playing pool or darts and getting to know the lovely locals, and the bar has a really good selection, with plenty of local beers. A really good space for parking - we took two motorbikes and could park them out of sight of the road around the back of the building so they felt secure. Location was perfect to get us to Exeter and it looked like there were some wonderful walking options if we had been staying for a longer break. There looked to be a lovely village shop just over the road, but we didn't get around to visiting.

The breakfast was basic, but tasty, and fine for being included in the room price.
