Room was cold, duvet thin which would have beenfine if heating was put on just to rake the chill off I HATE nylon shower curtains , the plug didnt fit sonwater drained out . The loo roll holder fell apart . Breakfast was cereal OR cookec . No toast, no porridge NO PARKING . IM afraid that is a major no no as far as we are concerned. Having to take cases 3 or 4 hundren yards is not on .

Characterful old inn, recently refurbished bedroom with a good shower and comfortable bed. Excellent tasty breakfast. Ideal location for a hiker on the Ridgeway or Thames paths. Great value for money.

My bedroom was quite small with sloping walls but that’s part of the charm of an old historic building.

Excellent room, lots of hot water (we arrived soaked to the skin on bikes from The Ridgeway), very friendly and helpful staff. Good dinner, and they helpfully stored our bikes overnight in a back area.

Wonderful staff, great service and our dogs were made welcome. We booked as a group of 7 walking the Ridgeway and the Miller of Mansfield is ideal. The location is in walking distance of the station, everyone got comfortable rooms and we really enjoyed the food. Dinner was great with excellent service - there was a lovely crispy batter on the fish and chips! Breakfast was delicious, all our parties dietary requirements were catered for and the service was wonderful. We'd definitely stay again.

Location was brilliant for walks along the River Thames. 10 mins walk (maximum) to the Train Station (easy access from London). Near shops which was great. Building was lovely. I had double compact room. It was compact but everything you needed. Bed was comfortable. Fresh milk for your coffee and tea which is great. Bottled water which was a nice touch. Just the right size for one person.

- blind in room was broken. - 2 flights of stairs to compact double room so if you have heavy luggage or mobility issues, maybe not for you. -room looked tired. Could do with a revamp. - shower water was luke warm. - no shelving in shower room as limited space, so all the toiletries were left in the room (that was OK if you remembered to take them in). - TV awkward angle to watch whilst in bed. - if you're tall, then be careful as the shower room had a sloped ceiling and you will bang your head if not careful. - shower curtain instead of a modern screen. Shower head had loads of limescale. - claims 4 stars. Personally I've stayed in better places for less or same price.

Lovely old inn with very individual rooms each with their own characters and idiosyncrasies. Very enjoyable stay.

Friendly, easy to pack our bikes, good location, great fan in room

A bit tired, cold water tap didn’t flow, shower was a faff for tall people!
